Like I said, the bible is not a science text book on dinosaurs and even if dinosaurs are mentioned, it would be mentioned in passing and not relevant information for a study of science.
The writer was not talking about dinosaurs. What was the writer talking about when he wrote that passage with reference to dinosuars?
His personal experiences with and understanding of God.
When the writer wrote about the creation of the universe in 7 days, what was the point of his story? To write a book on science like Hawkings' A Brief History of Time?
Of course not. He was writing about YOU! Why you do not know God. You want to be like God. You do not want to be a mere man.
Well, surprise, surprise... no matter how much you want to be God, you are a mere man.
I am not really sure cats and dogs were created the same time as dinosaurs by God, becoz the bible never said tat....Originally posted by asimplelife:Can you try to explain why bones of cats and dogs (and other animals) were not found with the fossils and bones of dinosaurs then? Since they were created together by God in 7 days?

Why THRU men? Why not make one appear out of thin air? When it is THRU men, what is the process like? What is the feeling like when God ask a man to do something for Him? neh neh neh pooh pooh... I know.
When you are willing to humble yourself and put your faith in God, you too will know. Remember, no idols because idols reflect your arrogance as a well as is putting your faith in "not God."
Remember, Faith in God, not understanding that you need faith in God and not believing what you were taught and read, anywhere.
Lastly understand that Faith in God comes from God.
When you have Faith in God; God respond to you directly. God works with you to fulfil the will of God in your own life. The only way that God can respond to you directly is through spirit. God gives you birth of a spirit. Born Again; Born of the Spirit.Originally posted by Icemoon:

Sorry I was busy, just logged-in and saw a lot of PMs. Thanks to all who replied.
See that the thread has gone OT quite a bit. I realise that there is a difference between the way christians and non-christians view things (from a freethinker point of view). Perhaps that is the reason why some dun see eye to eye.
Maybe let me just share my experience:
Christians:
Believe in the presence of God;
Believe that the bible is true and that it is the word of God;
Believe that the bible is true (cos it is the word of God) then study the bible to comprehend the facts in it.
(Eg. For me, I've been to NCC. If I were to convert then, I would first be a christian, believe that God exists, and thus that the bible is true as it is the word of God, then study it. That is why I am still a freethinker because I require facts/scientific reasoning before I am convinced, thus my questions here).
Non-christians (a generalisation here that may be incomplete):
May believe that there is no god;
May believe that there is God but in other religions;
May be born to believe in a religion;
May be a freethinker;
May convert to christianity if they are convinced;
May need convincing of facts in the bible and religion first before believing that it is the word of God, as there are also facts in their own beliefs (could be self-beliefs or religious beliefs). This is because Christianity encompasses a lot of bible study and the sermons often use quotes from the bible. If I don't believe in the bible it is difficult to believe in God in the Chistianity context.
I have received a lot of PMs on attending courses and attending the study groups. However, I have some responding that they are also not quite sure abt the bible itself. I had expected a brief but clear outline abt the answers but I am sorry I remain unconvinced with some of the responses. I often feel that facts of life are made to fit into the bible and explain it than having the bible with clear facts to convince us. This is my personal belief and I understand that christians may have a different view on this.

1) In the bible, it does mention at one point where it says "...and other beings" which many have come to refer it as Aliens. But in your case, it can be use to explain the creation of Dinos.Originally posted by asimplelife:i am recently exploring more on christianity, after hearing abt some of the concepts from a fren, but am still not sure of some issues. tried to clarify with my fren but he's also not very sure as he is new to christianity, gotta ask his cell gp leader, so thot can get some advice from you all. If you know, pls reply or pm me ok?
here goes:
1. Did God create dinosaurs? Was it mentioned in the bible clearly that he did?
2. How did all the animals on earth fit into noah's ark? How big was the ark then? Are we all decendents of noah then, since he was the only human to survive?
3. If God created all the good things in life, such as the sky, sun and so on, why did he also create disasters and diseases, where even christians die from?
4. Where do animals go to when they die? My fren told me that they have no soul, but I was thinking that if it is so, then why do dogs cry when their owners die? They are too humanlike to be without souls.
I have a lot of other questions, but think i'm asking too many already. Did try searching on the net for answers but couldn't get a reasonable answer. Sincerely hope someone can help here. Thanks.

when will u be truely born again?
stop writing ur own bible and believe in God!
ya, speaking for God, and planning for God that he shld have written the bible himself......anyway, our argument stops HERE!Originally posted by casino_king:When you have Faith in God; God respond to you directly. have to tell u this, stop emphasizing to have faith in God, it may mislead other ppl thinking that things can drop form the sky as long as one has faith. Is it true that as long as u believe and have faith, everything wld be wad u wanted?? wld appreciate if u answer me. thxOriginally posted by casino_king:Stop lying to yourself and put your Faith in God.
Thanks for having such an open mind! Glad I wasn't blastered for asking questions.Originally posted by vince69:my apology for cutting on the your post, just want to address a few points in this.
You are always welcome to come back and ask questions that you may have regarding Christianity.Originally posted by asimplelife:Thanks for having such an open mind! Glad I wasn't blastered for asking questions.
Finally had time to post again. Read a couple of responses, though I may not concur with all of them, as they may not be acceptable scientifically (such as a day's time may weigh differently in God's context), I accept that it does make sense in Christianity.
Thanks to all for clarifying, which was my aim of having this thread. I have a better view of how christians view the bible differently from the scienitific point of view. Though I am still not convinced, I have a better understanding of Christianity. I am not here to argue but to understand, and I think any debate here may prove futile as it is really a matter of perception.
See that the thread has gone OT a bit, can I request the moderators to please close this thread?
3. If God created all the good things in life, such as the sky, sun and so on, why did he also create disasters and diseases, where even christians die from?Almost no one has answered this. Well, the best answer to theodicy (explaining why evil exists with an all-good god) I've found is this story:
