Was it a Catholic theologian?Originally posted by vince69:disasters and diseases (and also death) comes only as a result of the fall, where according to some theologian, Adam passed/forfeited the key to rule over the earth (that God gave to Adam) to Satan
He came to heal the spiritual emptiness...physical healings are the manifestations of His power and grace. That is not the most crucial problemOriginally posted by SingaporeMacross:Was it a Catholic theologian?
Can I ask one more question? The rest of you can feedback too.
If Jesus died on the cross for everyone, why then do we still; die, suffer disease, and suffer disasters?
U c , u say it as if suffering is bad. Just cos it hurts humans doesnt mean its bad. It can act as a test(shi4 lian4)(i like to use chinese cos its more accurate)Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Was it a Catholic theologian?

It is a book on people's encounters with God. People's relationships with God. It is better that you write your own bible; that is, an account of your own relationships with God.

Jesus died on the cross, yes. Jesus did not die to transform the world into "paradise." God continues to give man free will even after Jesus' death.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Was it a Catholic theologian?

How do u know God wants us to experince him directly. If thats so, y is there a bible? The bible is Gods word and plz don twist the truth. The truth is--God , thru Men wrote the bible. Men did not write it based on HIS own understanding as uve stated.Originally posted by casino_king:When Moses wrote Genesis, it was based on his own experiences with God. Based on his own understanding of God within the cultural and socio-politico context of his times.
The one and only God is here today and God wants man to experience Him directly and not by proxy... not through the Bible.
No wonder there are so many prophets and new religions popping out these days.....Originally posted by casino_king:To those who have quoted me regarding the Bible.
God uses man. God gives man free will. This free will includes writing what man wants in the Bible.
Does God intervenes in man's life directly? Yes but only for those justified by faith. Even then God intevenes in a natural rather than supernatural manner.
Only when it is impossible for man to do it, does God intevene. And only in times of great need. These are so few and far in between that we can safely say that God does not intervene directly and chose to depend on man and all other incidences are exceptions to the rule.
When you are born of spirit and have a relationship with God, you might compare notes with what was written in the Bible but basically it is your own relationship that counts. You write your own Bible.
