I think the point of the thread was never about whether Dan Brown is wrong or right, but some of the themes and points he is trying to get through

Movies and other entertainment media is full of mistruths and deviations. I've read books written by american authors who thought the British were fighting the chinese in the jungles of Malaya.
Sometimes writers try to base their stories of factual events, but as most of what they write is fiction, 100% authenticy wasn't their concern. And the stories are sensatinalised to make it more interesting to read. -

Recent at Orchard MRT, picture of the Last Supper(The movie's ad) was pasted on the floor. This also made some folks unhappy. IMO, it is really abit overboard to have it on the ground. Even though the MRT guys barricaded Christ's face portion to prevent people from stepping.
No matter what, i see a sense of belonging on the Christians on their faith. I see Christians fighting for their belief and i see Christians proud of their belief.
Its make me wonder, if Taoists will protect their own faith?
Our 5000 yrs old Taoism, is often related to superstitious and our deities are often make out of a 'mockery' in TV shows and movies.
How many actually voiced out? We are in a democratic world and maybe i am a 'mountain tortoise'....so far i heard none.
Are we proud to be a Taoist? Are we afraid to pray or hold incense in the presence of other people?
Are we brave enough to tell people how devoted we are, and which belief we are in and what divine we pray to?
Well, no one can judge our faith. No one is fit make a mockery of our belief.
but if we, the follower do not cherish our belief and traditions, then no one will give respect to our religion. -
If you don't stand up and live for what you believe in, it's quite likely that you never really believed in anything to begin with.
In many senses, this seemingly chocking universal notion that everybody should not claim that their own beliefs are better then the other seems to me not to unify and generate harmony, but rather destroy all kinds of volition together in one lukewarm mess of LCD ideas. -
We are proud in our belief, but are we strong in our faith. This is a good test god put you in, you need yr wisdom to see it far beyond the history.
The eye in the triangle, the twin tower, the iron bird in the sky, the chip in the forehead, one world one nation! I heard all these before. Read your last chapter, god is telling you something.
Anyway I'm not a Christian. Just be prepare. -
Da vinci code has not affected my faith. I have never had faith in the Catholic Church; which is historically a Doubtful and immoral organisation from the very begining, with much blood spilled.
Christianity was a made up religion with its own bureucracy and rules, all written and decided by Man. not God. And transferred to us today by word of mouth and a thick bible which has been re-written and censored.
So how could my belief have ever been there? Yet alone affected lol.
But it the movie just goes to show how it is possible to plagiarise stuff and get away with it. -
