I find myself standing up for my faith more, and learning more about the Church's teachings, as they are published in the bulletins in response to the Dan Brown's claims.
I'd already read about Pierre Plantard and his scheme before reading the book (I've not watched the movie), so I was pretty much fuming that he got it all wrong. Seeing people get sucked into his inaccuracies was worse though. The topic has also become an outlet for people to vent their resentment against a few over-zealous Christians, violent crusaders or corrupt clergy, which is also disappointing. Talk about kicking one when he's down.
I think lots of people who say, "It's only a movie, why the fuss you selfish zealots" miss the point of calling for a ban. It's not about how strong the basis for our beliefs is. The author is making money out of confusing people and besmirching the Church, and every ticket bought to watching the movie contributes to filling his coffers further. Besides, we've already had a precedent with the ban on "The Last Temptation Of Christ". -

The book/movie made me research more into Christianity's roots...I think its great. Cuz I normally wouldn't really bother about the history of the Church.

but one thing, you can never fight established history set by the winners.

How did it go?
Well... on Sunday morning, I just wanted to sleep a little more, and was tempted to miss the Sunday Mass. But the murderous Silas suddenly came to my mind. No doubt Silas was a scary murderer in the movie, he was also a very obedient follower, something that I should learn. I was telling myself, why couldn't I be as obedient to God's command like the way Silas obeyed his mentor.
So I pulled myself out of the bed, washed my face, changed and headed to the church. hehehe -
I think the only winner now is Dan Brown. He wrote something that makes so much money for him. Now the whole world is fighting over it but he just needs to stay at home and continue watching his money grow.
