How have Da Vinci code movie affected ur faith?

For me, it has not bring down my faith in Christ. In fact, it has let me see how pple go to great lengths to bring down the Christian faith, but failed miserably as their "truth" failed to answer a lot of questions: If Christ is a mere prophet and he died just like tat, is there a need for Mary Magdelene to continue his church?
The most incredible part, Mary Magdelene travelled to France on a boat. -

dan brown never claimed his book to be the truth or that christianity was all a lie. its actually the clergy who decided to make a big issue of it resulting in such a big hooha and more pple reading and having their already shaky faith shaken.

It's just a damned thriller..
But the Hebrew and Aramaic interpretations of companion is something we have to delve in further.
Gnostic scrolls.. they cannot be dismissed too, but a concrete conclusion is not reached yet.

no it has not. though i have not watched it.
where would i go for eternal life? if i depart from Christ. i know it is just based on gnostic writings. cultic groups during Church Fathers times.
i won't be surprised if they would unearth Manichean writings. Another cult during those times mixing the 'best' of the teachings of all religions including Christianity.

actually, Dan Brown claimed that a lot of it was based on fact... however, all his "facts" have been proven to be hogwash...
worse, his book is based on another book... the authors sued him but somehow, he got away with it...
as for faith, faith in what?

Heh.. If ur faith is strong, this movie is only an entertainment. What i don't understand is why some churches in Singapore actually banned its believer from watching this film. Are they afraid that they'll derail? This movie really tests the strength of faith of christians.

ok, to your question, not sure why the need to ban also, just help promote the movie, but its up to individual church leadership and theirs members to decide.
I do have this for those who want to watch the movie, read the book, do dig deeper into the source of this subject, look into the facts of them, and make a informed view. If you have question about them (be it the DVC or the Christian teachings), can post them here, and we will try our best to help you find the answer.

It is not so much how it affects my faith, just imagine your father being a well known character, like Lee Kwong Chien or Tan Luck Sai, somebody wrote a fiction, a thriller about a young pretty girl from China, claimed she had a map leading to the location of the wealth left by your grandfather, and the girl's mother turned out be your grandfather's mistress in China...... you might not be justify to make noise if your grandfather is already known to have a few wives here and there, but what if he is very well respected by the family as a faithful hushand to your grandmother?
say all we can about knowing our faith, but I cannot support anybody who make money by fictionalizing my faith. There is no respect for the faith.
try writing a thriller portraying the founder of Falungong as the descendent of Buddha and one of his female follower in China.
