Sometimes the mandarin translation does a better job than the English one. Since we are all bilingual (due to education policy), the mandarin one can help reinforce our understanding. -

for me hor .. there is no way to know exactly how the english is pronounced .. but for chinese is different. Hehe.
why is the chinese translation is "very long and hard to understand". The chinese should have around the same syllabus as the english one. With regards to names and places, what is there to understand? They are not "concepts". -

speaking of PRC.....the PRCs at NTU refuse to speak to me in mandarin....only English...why har? NKJV and NIV is a good combination. It's like having the two major Greek text in your hands. they are good transalations if you want to study the Word deeper. The downside of the NIV is that it does not italize words that are not in the original. You may be studying a word that is not in the original.
