As believers we believe in the bible and it does contain 66 books and all these books do pertain to us as believers in the God of Israel. In God's Kingdom as in any country, there is only one set of laws. What applies to one citizen applies to the other in the same kingdom or country. Since we have been adopted into God's Kingdom and we are now His children, and are part of His Kingdom, all the laws of that Kingdom apply to us.Originally posted by vince69:Was nosing around the Calender and realised that the coming 2-3 Jun as according the Jews in Singapore will be the day they celebrate Shavuoth (aka Feast of weeks, Lev 23:15-22), which is also the 50th day after the Passover celebration.
Just find this interesting to share...

What is the significant of this to us? cause it is also on this day the Holy Spirit is given to all believers (Acts 2). Also since we all know this is one of the feasts ordain by God to the Jews to keep, though we as Gentile believers do not have the obligation to participate in them, nevertheless, its still a good thing to have an understanding of them, reason is simply this, in understanding them (Jewish feasts/traditions), it aid us in getting a better understanding in the of the context/term in which the OT teachings is being set.
Lets make this a thread with meaningful discussion and peaceful sharing, shall we?
God bless.
ok, thought there is a different, cause not all Jews are saved yet (as in accepted the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ) thats why I mention them separately.Originally posted by breytonhartge:As believers we believe in the bible and it does contain 66 books and all these books do pertain to us as believers in the God of Israel. In Christ there is neither Jew or gentile, therefore there should not be a segregation of what is Jewish and what is not Jewish, but what is of God. The feasts of God were instituted as feasts forever till the end of time. Therefore we still have to keep these feasts in obedience to the Lord.
the law was given 430 years later after Abraham's time more or less.Originally posted by Raptured:Was the law given at pentecost during Moses' time? Like how the Holy Spirit was given during NT church times? Thanks.
Catholic resources should be a good starting point if you really want to search. i'll ask a few friends of mine to see whether they know any of these sourcesOriginally posted by Palisade:Can anyone tell me where to find evidence outside the New Testament, such as any ancient Jewish writings concerning the miracles that occurred on that Pentecost day back in 33 A.D.?
