~clap clap clap clap clap~Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Only muddled Christians might be under the impression that Christmas is a God-demanded holy day, and a little look into history would clear it all up. The sheer virtue of the date has very little effect on Christianity I would suspect.
All the same, I think it has taken on another and more significant thing altogether. And all the same I see no need in discontuning with the tradition as long as we know what we are really doing and for what.
It would be fallacious to argue for or against Christmas on it's very misconceptions, unless of course one is trying in some way to cure people of their more deluded and taken-for-granted Christian beliefs... but that only reveals a true Christianity that I have yet to see as lacking.

8. Christmas causes people to come to the L-RD
Which L-RD? The One of the Scriptures, or some corrupted, man made invention? Do people then begin celebrating according to G-d's Word? Is their heart changed to seek out all righteousness, or have they just fallen in love with the "spirit" of the season? Remember, the true Holy Spirit of G-d only obeys and promotes the Scriptural Holy Days of the Most High. So what "spirit" then is the "Spirit of Christmas". By their fruit you shall know them.
