Christians will be subjected to ridicule, intolerance & greater persecution. People will get the wrong ideas about Christianity & start to question the validity of the Christian religion which tantamounts to saying Christianity is fake & Christians are liars.
The Book didnt say that Christianity is a fake nor did it say Christians are liars.
What it does say is that its the Church that has covered up
certain facts to and consequently misled christians, in order to ensure the survival of the faith.

I'm quite sure what will happen instead is that Christians will find their faith stronger as the book will make them want to find out what is true and what is false. Ultimately, this is an age where people are questioning and dissecting every basic premise of a religion, be it Christianity or Islam or Judaism...whichever. Faith is coming under a microscope, but i believe this is better than just accepting it blindly. Because when people question, it gives rise to questioning and rebuilding of faith.
The book by Dan Brown doesnt disrespect Christ - I dont think it was even disputed that he was God's prophet.
Where it does offend Christians is in its dispute of Christ as god and his marriage to Mary Magdalene.
But again, i question why you should think that this book's recent claims will lead to chrisitans being the launghing stock?
If anything, according to Judaism (the religious foundation of Christianity and Islam), Christ has NEVER been the son of God. Not just since the book was published, but since the beginning of the faiths itself. Jews and Muslims havent laughed then, what makes you think we should laugh now? And precisely what is there to laugh about?
Differences in belief doesnt mean that one religion has to be more correct than the other. It just means that we make different choices in which religion we wish to believe in more.
