The issue is, will you accept any alternative view that is not inline with your own perception as an answer. I have mentioned it before, you are not interested in getting an answer to your questions, you are just here to try to display your "superior intellecture capability" or whatever you called them, by trying to step over others.
My susgestion to you is this, listen more and critise less.
on your question on why study the Bible?
Reading/studying the Bible and being able to quote from it does not means having knowledge and understanding about it (anyone that practice speed readingt can do this), just like going to church does not make one a christian.
Reading/studing the Bible have to be done with a humble and seaching heart, then knowledge and understanding will come, and with these, strengthening of faith (know what/why one believe, the foundation of one faith), and guidance&peace&joy&hope needed for daily living.
On your question on whether I believe in God?
Yes, I believe in the one Creator God, as written in the Bible, "There is only one God, who created the heaven and the earth". I believe I had received salvation and forgiveness of sin by grace through the finished work of Christ, and had received the seal of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee for this.
satisfied with the answer? no? never mind, you have your own choice and decision to make.

I wonder if a person who starts out with the answers and then makes the questions to answer them can really be considered to ever have had a scientific bone in the body, as much under the guise of science he may go under?
My take on this is that some people said a lot more then they really knew about, and kept on throwing in desperate wild idea after desperate vague idea to keep the goose-chase up. For what end nobody can decern, but I've noticed that everytime we get far enough on a topic (and are at the point of exposing it), a certain person abruptly changes it to a whole new different tangent. I am sure many have noted this curious behaviour many times over.
In all the great differences of stances and ideas (which go from an almost monotheistic belief in science and sheer rationality to determining value, to making mountains out of vague '666' omens, from arguing for Freud's notion that all morality is naturalistic and irrational, to that we ought to behave in a certain moral fashion anyway (despite it being irrational), to arguing that faith should be the solution to anything, back to yet again another monotheistic belief in science), there is nothing to connect them it seems, except a vague personal notion on the person pushing them that he ought to be 'right', 'brave', 'rational' 'new', 'novel' or have an 'answer' to any possible question, everything except having stopped to consider if it was actually true.
I don't know who's really into self-deception here, but a person who thinks that Freud can coexist with Abraham in notion could quite possibly be taking his sources from everywhere without checking for consistency. -

Now that someone has admitted that he knows of no scientific evidence of God; does he then declares that there is no God?
And he said that he believes with all his heart and all his soul that there is only one God.
The one who said that studying the bible is to believe in the right God has as yet not answered the question if whether in his heart there is only one God. I now ask him to question himself whether he is a child of God because he does not even know the answer to that simple question.
So CE the brave and honest one, what is studying the bible for? -

Basically you rope your entire argument on the word "scientific". Therefore based on the criteria you have set, there is NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE FOR the existence of God. However, scientific evidence is only one form of evidence. Therefore, as you can see, Scientific evidence is only one of the many types of evidence. If your only admissible evidence is scientific, then yes, I cannot prove to you that there is a God. So end of argument.
But based on the other forms/types of evidence, I do believe that there is a God. So it is my perogative to state to all that, and in accordance to your simple question: Yes I believe in all my heart and all my soul that there is a God. I want to emphasis on the phrase "MY PEROGATIVE". Because it my perogative to look at all evidences. Because it is my perogative to not to only look at ONE aspect of evidences.....

I study the Bible to
Gain knowledge of God,
Gain understanding of historical times,
Gain insights of future events,
Gain useful time when I have nothing better to do...
List is not exhaustive, as it depends from person to person, in case you also have a bone to pick with it.
