You also forget, if any man can keep the commandments, he will have eternal life. The two commandments you say you are aware of, love the Lord thy God and love thy neighbour as thyself, sum up all the TEN.
He meant.Originally posted by laoda99:Please explain the part in bold.
so in their covenant, what do the Jews have to do?Originally posted by laoda99:God's redemption for the Jews are covered by his covenant with them.
For Christians, redemption is thru Christ's work on the cross, not by any works or keeping commandments.
bingo! i think laoda should read that statement very carefully again.Originally posted by M©+square:He meant.
If any men manage to attain keeping to the TEN commandments. He'll confirm go heaven without any doubt.
But none have attained.
EH become tensed and hyper sensitive.
huh .. so you are helping them strengthen their belief??Originally posted by casino_king:The reson I am debating the Christians AND the Buddhists is to remind them of what their beliefs are. Some have good understanding of what and why they believe. Others seemed to be on very shaky ground.
In the OT, Remission of sins is only possible by the shedding of blood.Originally posted by Icemoon:so in their covenant, what do the Jews have to do?
but the shedding of blood is to be done at the Temple right?Originally posted by laoda99:Remission of sins is only possible by the shedding of blood.
After Christ came, Christ's sacrifice is once and complete.
We have Christ. Christ's work is complete. Please refer to my other threads.Originally posted by Icemoon:but the shedding of blood is to be done at the Temple right?
today no Temple liao then how?
I mean for the Jews today.Originally posted by laoda99:We have Christ. Christ's work is complete. Please refer to my other threads.
I have read your statements very carefully, and I implore u not to confuse fellow Christians about commandments. It is not a requirement for us to enter heaven.Originally posted by breytonhartge:bingo! i think laoda should read that statement very carefully again.

They are covered by god's covenant with them. They are god's people and god have other plans for them.Originally posted by Icemoon:I mean for the Jews today.

I have always said that salvation if by grace through the finished work on the cross by Yeshua.
oh no .. they have it too easy liao, don't they?Originally posted by laoda99:They are covered by god's covenant with them. They are god's people and god have other plans for them.
For us Christians, there is no doubt that Christ has redeemed us from our sins, past, present and future. No commandments will be able to replace Christ's sacrifice.
hello, i said IF IF IF IF IF IF... do you not understand the meaning of the word IF???Originally posted by laoda99:U said: if any man can keep the commandments, he will have eternal life.
But in actual fact, no one could be justified by the law as what the bible says.
I do not think I have misread what u wrote. U place the law over grace, and I have a duty to remind u of that.

I said if a man can keep the commandments, he will have eternal life, even Yeshua acknowledges this.
But because we cannot keep the commandments, Yeshua has done it for us, by living a life which has kept all the commandments and by showing us how we can do it also, but we do it because we LOVE GOD, not because we are doing it as works for our salvation, but we are doing it as work because of our salvation.

I do not think u are a jew, and u can never be a jew.Originally posted by Icemoon:oh no .. they have it too easy liao, don't they?
I also want to be a Jew then. Don't believe in Jesus still have chance to go heaven.
Finally!Originally posted by laoda99:Your clarification is very much welcomed and accepted.
U do acknowledge that we cannot keep the commandments and that Jesus has done it for us and that we do it becoz we love god, not becoz we want to earn merit.
Thank u very much.

Believe in Christ and get saved. That's the only way for u.
How to rephrase? I though that this statement would be understood. there is only one meaning for the word if.Originally posted by M©+square:English teacher please resolve the statement Laoda and Brey is arguing on.
It's language and sense of comprehension fault.
Brey: Try to rephrase it? Might have caused misunderstanding.
Actually the Jews are looking for messiah, and when Yeshua comes again, they will recognise Him and acknowledge Him and be saved!Originally posted by Icemoon:oh no .. they have it too easy liao, don't they?
