You can be a care group leader but most probably not a pastor.Originally posted by vince69:Honestly speaking, one thing I don't understand, is paper qualification really important when it comes to church leadership?
Personally, I feel that a godly person with a compassionate and teachable heart, is far better than a person full of knowledge but have no heart for the people.
(of course, if can have both heart and knowledge, then is best combination lah).
I just feel that the style of Ps Prince is like a sales motivational speaker someone like Anthony Robbins. I agree speaking positive is necessary but it sounds so much like worldy motivational training courses from renowned speakers like Jim Rohn, Robbins, etc. I think people doing business will do very well in NCC. That's why Ps Prince said this year will be the year of acceleration for his people. But i don't totally agree with the business psyche. Businessmen usually con people, then to absolve their guilt they donate to church or charity. Or else how they become so rich?Originally posted by breytonhartge:And what makes you so sure that you are right? Me thinks as well, like the holy communion thing and the smoking thing, all blown out of proportion by people who have no discernment. The Holy communion thing was shared by a member of the congregation about how his family member was healed by taking the holy communion, the fact that he improvised is one that should not even be harped on. God can work miracles inspite of our human failings.
Also, can you claim that you can explain all the verses in the bible well? Are you so sure that you have all the right answers to the biblical verses? Ps prince speaks at the level of understanding which God has given him, you mean you are better?
So what is wrong with Christians being materially well off? We are the blessed of the Lord! Does it mean that just because you are a Christian, you have to be poor? Many people just hear the first part, and then they switch off, but then do they hear the second part of Ps princes sermon, he also talks about the conditions that God sets for us to be blessed. And also, he talks about God's will being done and not our own. I think ps prince has a clear revelation of what it means to be prosperous. This does not just include wealth, but in our relationships, in our health, our mental psyche etc. If were were not meant to be blessed, why then would God tell us so?
Health and wealth are our rights as children of God. Even the bible says so. So how is Ps Prince preaching heresy?
A prophet is one who speaks forth the Word of God. So all Christians are prophets when they speak forth the bible or gospel.Originally posted by M©+square:When did he become a prophet?

Yes, i have heard of even Pastors bombarding him when i went to a diff church like Lighthouse Evangelism. People call someone a heretic with a reason. I hope Ps Prince can review what others are saying abt him.Originally posted by vince69:John,
wah... missing for a while, come back so fast wrack people already..
anyway, no need to worry about bombardment (as least not for me), since you had beed to NCC before, you may had already heard this from pastor Prince himself over the pulpit before (think he mentioned this before).
"There are people out there calling him a heretic, and noone is to attempt to defend him in any manner"
so there you go, no bombardment...
God bless.
Why leh?Originally posted by M©+square:Wah....Heresy!!!
Me not Christian also can tell you why.Originally posted by Repented John 2:Why leh?
Why do u keep saying you not Christian when you're already attending church and believe in God?Originally posted by Icemoon:Me not Christian also can tell you why.
The Book of Hebrews tells us clearly that prophets are "instruments" for God's revelation, which culminated with the arrival of Jesus Christ. Therefore, Jesus Christ can be viewed as the last prophet.
Now you know why Islamic teachings are at variance when they claim Muhammed (PBUH) is the last prophet.
God promise to send someone after Jesus Christ. Muslims see the someone as Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), whereas Christians see the "someone" as the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

Sorry you yourself said prophets are "instruments" for God's revelation, so isnt pastor Prince revealing the grace message which God has revealed to him?Originally posted by Icemoon:Me not Christian also can tell you why.

I don't recall Joe Prince calling himself a Prophet..... let's just be clear on this point. I am only aware that there are some church leaders calling themselves Apostles.....Originally posted by Repented John 2:Sorry you yourself said prophets are "instruments" for God's revelation, so isnt pastor Prince revealing the grace message which God has revealed to him?
Sorry God didn't promise to send someone after Jesus Christ. But God did say in Corithians & elswhere that He gave some to be prophets thru the Holy Spirit's gifting.

first, the verses before this is talking about unity within the body of Christ, and how each part of the body functions differently and is interdependant on each other.
1 cor 12:28
And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then healers, helpers, administrators, speakers in various kinds of tongues.
Yes, I have heard of some charismatic preachers calling themselves Apostles, Prophets ...etc etc and some even claimed that these appointments is given to them by God (and they like to quote 1cor 12:2Originally posted by Chin Eng:I don't recall Joe Prince calling himself a Prophet..... let's just be clear on this point. Ps Prince has the stature of an Apostle & Prophet considering the size of his church & his controversial message.Originally posted by Chin Eng:I don't recall Joe Prince calling himself a Prophet..... let's just be clear on this point. We are all told to have one mind & to grow in maturity to be like Jesus Himself. & Paul urges all the ask for the gift of prophecy so that the church will be edified. Bcos when speaking in tongues, nobody can be edified unless tongues can be intrepreted into common lang.Originally posted by vince69:first, the verses before this is talking about unity within the body of Christ, and how each part of the body functions differently and is interdependant on each other.
then is verse 27 "Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."
then Paul carry on and describes all this various 'calling'/'office' within the church.
then in verse 29,30
"29)Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30)Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?"
simply put, 1 cor 12 is saying not every one is called to to be apostles or prophets or ....etc, but each christians being a part of the Body have a part to play, these gifts/callings are given for the edification of the church (ie. the Body) and not about who is more honorable/better than the other.
on the sending of another, yes, Christ did mentioned that after He had returned to the Father (God), God will send another, the Holy Spirit, the counselor (some translation uses the comforter) who will teach us all things and bring to our rememberance all the Christ had said.
ref: John 14:25-30.

John,Originally posted by Repented John 2:Ps Prince has the stature of an Apostle & Prophet considering the size of his church & his controversial message.
But then again are present day Apostles suffering like what the past Apostles are suffering? NO. I see them driving big cars & having plenty of credit cards & living in big houses etc.

But i thot the bible mentioned some are more honourable parts than others in Cor? In fact the lowly & hidden parts are more honourable right? Like we cover our private parts of our bodies bcos these are sensitive parts.
Concur!Originally posted by vince69:John,
Apostle & Prophets are not statures like titles of men, these have to specifically appointed by God (or some claim to be appointed), not determined by the size of the person's followers.
God Bless.
Oh ok sorry. I was meaning that since he has plenty of church members, maybe God was appointing him as an apostle or prophet.Originally posted by vince69:John,

Eh. No idea. Maybe you can explain to me?Originally posted by vince69:John,
you are close, just need to think deeper, perhaps in the line of the various ministries in the church.
