And what makes you so sure that you are right? Me thinks as well, like the holy communion thing and the smoking thing, all blown out of proportion by people who have no discernment. The Holy communion thing was shared by a member of the congregation about how his family member was healed by taking the holy communion, the fact that he improvised is one that should not even be harped on. God can work miracles inspite of our human failings.Originally posted by Repented John 2:Well is he a false prophet? I consider him bothering on heresy & apostasy. He is on very dangerous ground. I like his entertaining & encouraging sermons but there are loopholes in his theology & the exegesis of the verses. I agree we are saved by grace thru faith but other elements of what he preached are bothering on heresy or error in doctrine.
So what if he is right on the grace part? He is wrong on other parts. He thinks his experience applies to everyone but not so. Experience could be wrong anyway. I find he skips certain verses & cannot explain others well. He tries to link all to grace which i find ok but overdoes it sometimes. Sometimes he gives his own ridiculous twist to the scripture.
So if a prophet is right on one part but wrong on others, he is a false prophet & can slowly lead to error & apostasy. It can slowly creep in & destroy the faith of many or twist their understanding of the bible. I have left NCC already for good. Yes, undeserved grace is good. But with God's grace, come the responsibility of living a life that is right before God & men. Anyway, does God say salvation is forever even if one sins greatly? There are many verses saying not so.
One eg of heresy brought up by NT2 was the Holy Communion heresy. I have a friend who told me use plain water also can. If Prince is wrong on one part, he is not a true prophet of God.
Also he subscribes to the WOF heresy, where one can pray for anything one wants & get them, so long as he confesses right & believes he gets it. He also subscribes to the healing & prosperity gospel, a health & wealth preacher. You mean Christians must be healthy & rich & if they are not, they arent good Christians or even Christians at all? You mean God could give you all the health & wealth you can imagine & pray for & believe for?
I know i will get bombarded for this but i will like to hear your comments.
Hi WCO,Originally posted by worldcupofficial:having been to NCC, and hearing from PP's mouth directly, i agree that there's a clear "something wrong" with his preaching.
i don't think i'd wanna launch into some very incise and deep long-drawn debate / discussion / rant about this, but i personally feel that there's a clear reason for why people who have heard him in church may have doubts.
it's pretty much as simple as "if there are doubts, ,leave it out". it IS quite sad that the style PP uses in NCC is pretty much that of "fun and entertainment" (i came to that conclusion on my 1st visit)
for sure there will be all kinds of detractors and also people who will back PP up. (well, his church is thousands strong, for starters!) but i think we also need to remember that not every 1 in EVERY church is saved.
thankfully the NCC isn't under scrutiny for reasons of which were once highlighted a few years ago in TNP , but still, i guess- NCC is by no means a conservative church.
So that's my 2 pence worth.

The problem is that charismatic pastors *love* to claim revelation from Jesus. Things like:Originally posted by breytonhartge:Like I said in another thread, not all the pastors get it right all the time, and even in some of the less radical churches, they will say things that are not quite right... especially certain churches which I will not go into as well. We all take as much as God allows us revelation for and we grow step by step, at different point in our walk with God we can accept a certain level of teaching.
True, when this happens, what are we to do?Originally posted by Icemoon:The problem is that charismatic pastors *love* to claim revelation from Jesus. Things like:
"I saw Jesus last night"
"God told me .. "
And I believe that God has told me things too. In fact I know He has spoken to me clearly about certain situations that I am in. So does that make me a heretic?Originally posted by Icemoon:The problem is that charismatic pastors *love* to claim revelation from Jesus. Things like:

If what's said is different, then who is the liar? God or the pastor?Originally posted by vince69:True, when this happens, what are we to do?
follow what the Bereans did when Paul was preaching to them, check against the scriptures.
If what is being said is different, then reject it.
God bless
Prince even dreamt of seeing God in the clouds, machiam like vision of Eziekel .. did you xp that?Originally posted by breytonhartge:And I believe that God has told me things too. In fact I know He has spoken to me clearly about certain situations that I am in. So does that make me a heretic?
actually I have had this dream too when I saw God/Jesus face to face, i thought, surely I am asleep, this occured when I first became a Christian, so does that make me heretical? I even had a vision where I saw all the false antichrists and when they would appear and Jesus even said to me when He would come again, but I have forgotten the times and dates... so what does that make me?Originally posted by Icemoon:Prince even dreamt of seeing God in the clouds, machiam like vision of Eziekel .. did you xp that?
I remember Prince metioned seeing the face of Jesus.
You mean you have never?Originally posted by Icemoon:Prince even dreamt of seeing God in the clouds, machiam like vision of Eziekel .. did you xp that?

It is ok to have dreams.Originally posted by breytonhartge:actually I have had this dream too when I saw God/Jesus face to face, i thought, surely I am asleep, this occured when I first became a Christian, so does that make me heretical? I have seen demons, I have had attacks, so I am heretical huh?
Even that controversial book Heaven is so Real, the author claims to have seen so many things Jesus showed her. Is she just another heretic?
You mean you have? So how does He look like?Originally posted by breytonhartge:You mean you have never?
Those who grad from theological college certianly do.Originally posted by Honeybunz:Do pastors go through any official training or get any form of qualification before preaching?
The choir high fashion meh? I thought FCBC one more impressive?Originally posted by iceFatboy:breytonhartge, cool down..
I went to NCC with my girlfriend now my wife. I was from FCBC.
When I was there, I was unimpressed at the high fashions of the choir, the suits they were wearing, PP's view of christians being rich. I was in a turmoil.
Have you really been to FCBC???Originally posted by Icemoon:The choir high fashion meh? I thought FCBC one more impressive?

yes, but not to the same bible college, theological school, or seminaries... etc.Originally posted by Honeybunz:Do pastors go through any official training or get any form of qualification before preaching?
I think I am cool. But yes, I agree with you, I would choose the latter anytime too. God Bless.Originally posted by iceFatboy:breytonhartge, cool down..

But I listened. This PP got sense. One thing about him is his down to earth. Yes, he makes the 2-3 hours of sitting there enjoyable, but there is some sense to what he said.
For me, I don't wish to judge whether he is or not a false prophet for that is not my job but God's one. And to argue here, I don't think that it is good for anyone.
Have your own personal relationship with God, and do a quick check with him. If you feel comfortable, stay with PP. If you feel uncomfortable, go to another. Find one. Why there is so many churches around? Well, God loves varieties.
But all roads leads to Jesus, and that crucial.
To me, PP is someone blessed by God to share his message. My family are comfortable with what he has to share and we stay. We are not bothered by how many thousands are here or not. What's you want is critical.
Spend time talking about someone or just enjoying God's presence.
I choose the latter anytime.
CHC's worship sucks big time.Originally posted by vince69:one more, CHC

I love their Mandarin service. Old people singing and praising.Originally posted by Icemoon:I've been there, even went to their Suntec exhibition hall one.
They got a choir like the other two and they have singers.
I have high praise for FCBC's worship. The songs they choose and their effort at bilingualism is amazing.
what do you think, God can lie or be wrong?Originally posted by Icemoon:If what's said is different, then who is the liar? God or the pastor?
