Online Gaming...a platform for the "devil"?

The pastor also declared that he know online gamers would probably disagree with him, but for their benefit, he ask them to think about what he say and pray for the guidiance of God.
He says that all that hours spent playing online games could have been used to do something useful like doing your work, praying to God etc etc.....

And somehow when they asked for help, God came into their life and helped them. One of the witness online game account was hacked into and he lost every item and equipment in it. He eventually gave up playing that game because he felt "xian".
The pastor therefore urged people to destroy copies of their online games and appeal to young fathers, who may have young childrens, not to be influenced by the game and stop playing games totally. The pastor also says self control is impossible for the long term. As online games are structured in such a way that it is impossible to gain satisfaction just by spending 1 hour or less playing it.
What do you think? Are online games evil?

On the other hand, I think star gazing and astronomy which is the study of the stars, solar systems is allow, cause its leads to advancement (like navigations.... etc).

Hmm... interesting... if you see signs in the stars of an immutable future that is the result of God's soverign will then certainly it might make sense. Just as seeing stars fall from the sky in line with blibical prophecy would not be wrong to see it as a sign. What of course is wrong, is trying to determine your own destiny via any method that of course, is quite obviously trying to reject one's own destiny with God. Hence it is a sin of rebellion... which is witchcraft... obviously however, rebellion is bigger then witchcraft.
