Who is the pastor to judge what is satanic and what is not? If he cannot provide specific verses or phrases from the word of God that directly opposes online gaming, then who is he to judge what God has created for enjoyment?
To destroy all copies of video games...even educational ones? Ha ha ha.
Of all things he give sermon about this one. And never portray the message properly somemore. I sense that it is just his own beliefs and not that of the Almighty.
Think about it.
Compare US, normal guys and gals who play games like Maplestory and Gunz for fun and to kill time. Usually study for a while, then play for leisure.
And THEY, abnormal guys and gals who play games like Maplestory and Gunz for fun and to kill ALL their time. Usually do not study at all. and come back from school and play while neglecting eating and sleeping and studying.
Pity the pastor's kids. No life. -

What do you think? Are online games evil?

The pastor also declared that he know online gamers would probably disagree with him, but for their benefit, he ask them to think about what he say and pray for the guidiance of God.
He says that all that hours spent playing online games could have been used to do something useful like doing your work, praying to God etc etc..... -

Actually I feel the principle is to love God first, then everything else will fall into place. One off physical acts without the heart will probably not lead anywhere, and worse perhaps reap legalism.
But the advice on online gaming is pratical, as is any advice on any other activity. If one finds he's spending a lot on time just on something that is simply 'fun' and little else... he might seriously need to think if his time is indeed being spent on things that matter. I don't find the huge amount of time I spend on the internet mindless or evil because it is highly fruitful for me, but indeed I do find that hours spend blasting people away might not be as fruitful as I though, simply gratifying and I don't think it's the way we ought to be living

If playing 12 hrs of game a day does not affect your walk with God, your relationship with your parents, your interaction with your friends, your responsibility in your house work or school work or occupation.... Hmmm true enough its addictive but there is a need for self-discipline. A discipline of steel is needed. Discipline is a key to succeed in life thus going through such situation is good training.
