some write for the sake of monetary gain, some try to promote a particular method that works for him/her but failed to see that such may not work for others because our God is not a robot but living.
The Book 'Prayer of Jabez' is one such failure and 'heretical' example. the writer seemed to promote that by reciting that prayer uttered by Jabez a person can increase in wealth and possession. That resulted in people uttering the prayer blinding and in many ways make the bible verse sound like a mantra. That is ridiculous. As in the case of Holy Communion, we can easily pervert the sacred things of God by our foolishness and ignorance.
Seek God, not the method.

which reminds me of the time, many years ago, when my church embarked on the CG movement. Insisted on following Ralph Neighbours' method of CG.... to the extreme.... I was, like, boh koh leng ai tai chi... how come must be exact?
another reason is that some Christian writers are so puffed up with self-worth that they think that they've got a hotline to God so whatever they say must be correct.
