Why must you do anything? Can you produce Jesus in front of them and show them? You cannot. So what's the big deal? If you want to believe then believe. You must understand that you are believing without any evidence no matter what kind of brainwashing you received. You ask them to produce Buddha in front of you you so you can believe; they cannot. They are also believing in things without any evidence. There is no right or wrong when it comes to beliefs. You belief what you want and if you do not let it, there is no difference whether you believe or not. In the mean time, the relationship with your family is real. It is reality. Everyone around me , my auntie , my sisters and my parents always tell me not to become a christian . To aggravate the matter, im the only and youngest son in the family.
I also never thought i would become a christian one day. However, it happens.
Everyone around me play a big role in influencing my burning interest in discovering purpose of life.
Fortunately, these people are christians(soccer friends, Pre-U school friends and i guess my own curiousity).
i do not want to break the news immediately to them. So, i slowly try to hint to them by placing bible everywhere, missing from my room in Sunday mornng(i always sleep till late and they know service is held every sunday morning), sing christian songs...
my mother start to approach me a few months back" You can go to church but dont get too serious arh!!"
my 2nd sister said to me today "you can go to church but never ever think about becoming a christian, mum and dad will be so depressed and disappointed."
i've been praying faithfully since i became one. i should say this is my biggest worry.. all i can do now is pray and wait for a right moment and break the news to them... or wad do u think ? please advice me... esp. for 1st generation christian.. beside praying and asking for God's helping hand, what should i do? -

If was only much later that I made my way back to the Catholic Church and my mom objected. She and the rest of the family did not turn up for my confirmation and that really broke my heart.

The Bible is proven through archaeological finds and corroboration between its many many meticulously hand copied manuscripts, with over 5000 copies of it(the original manuscripts) in our possession, they show a 99.5% accuracy between all its copies. And this shows that the text we have is the same as the text produced back then.
Archaeological finds have never conflicted with what was written in the Bible too, and secular historians present at that time confirm the presence of Biblical characters.
Despite the different time frames in which different books of the Bible was written, the entire Bible flows smoothly, with fulfillment of a multitude of prophecies as its hallmark sign of being God inspired.
So, imaginations and belief? I don't think so.

Burning interest in discovering the purpose of life brought me from christianity to buddhism. Christianity couldn't give me the answers.
I think one should know all religions and philosophies and then see which one satisfies him at most.
I am aware of a few Chinese Mahayana Buddhists that became born again Christians. I don't believe this is uncommon. Perhaps these people were Buddhist in name only. They may have had their Buddhist shrines and numerous rituals but I think they were just following these things because that's what their parents did and they didn't really have a true understanding. Unlike Western Buddhism whereas buddhism in the East is so laden with rituals and tied in to cultures by folk traditions that the dharma is often obscured. Also in my experience of the last couple of years I have found born again Christians to be very friendly and charming but underneath that exterior an extremely aggressive need to convert others without exception. It is very interesting to observe their modus operandi. If you are Buddhist in name only (joss stick buddhists)and also maybe having problems in your life, you are ripe for the picking. (easy targets) -
Why not you sit down have a discussion with them.
