are you a christian?Originally posted by JLM6509:Can i ask is Christian can or rather advisable to keep dragon fish (arowana)?
If you think it is, then it is, cause its a matter of conscience.Originally posted by JLM6509:Yes. What i ask is will there any "unclean" spirit associate with that as dragon fish is highly regarded as 'feng sui" fish. I do understand that part of hobby may take up your time etc...

personally, I don't see anything that really assosicate it with feng sui.
but just to be aware, keep arowana can be a rather expensive and time consuming hobby.
Some are Christians some are not..... Some are mature some are not..... no rules in coming into EH.Originally posted by JLM6509:I am new to this forum, can I ask is members here are all Christian ? spiritual mature ? not those get bored from Bar & can came here TCSS.
FYI, i am keeping arowana for years even before I became Christian (about 2 years as Christian), guess all of your all have little knowledge about the dragon fish (based on Chin Eng replied), do you ever heard about those "strange" stories on those fish. Before I explain further on the fish, can I ask is it ok for Christian to believe in feng shui ? eg. hold on the belief that there is another super natural power there to influence your well being if you do this & that (instead of asking our Heavenly Father).
Chin Eng got the point, keeping it depand on your conscience, anyway, i plainning to let go the fish.

If you think there is something wrong with the fish, it's good that you let it go.Originally posted by JLM6509:I am new to this forum, can I ask is members here are all Christian ? spiritual mature ? not those get bored from Bar & can came here TCSS.

Are you sure? Sounds new age to me.Originally posted by shade343:All form of powers in this earth comes from God.
Pls pray for deliverance & let the fish go.Originally posted by JLM6509:Thanks for all reply. Let me share my story, i do believed in fengshui before i accepted Christ. Of course now i renounced & confessed those i praticed previously.
As I mentioned earlier, I start keeping arowana before i am a Christian, the original intention of keeping arowana is to bring good luck ( i generally a fish lover, i do keep other fishes & marine coral) but now i do believe luck won't come from fish, i also started to admire the beauty of arowana.
Those strange stories i personally encounter is once i was busy & didn't take care of the fish for days, suddenly i got an infection on my left eye (red & itch) and my wife noticed & told me my fish's eye blur, cover by fungus, then I realised is same side as mine, coincident ?
I had a gold arowana that kept for 5 years, there once i went US to visit my wife (she temp posted there a year), so i asked a favour from my relative to come to my house 2 times per week to feed the fish. After a week in US, i dream of my fish died of suffocate & true enough on the very next day, i received a sms from my relative that all my fish died, because they accidently switch off the main power, no air & water circulation in the tank.
Some other stories i heard, owner engaged in accident but unhurt, fish died at same time with no obvious reason. Owner speak wanted to let go the fish & it died next day without obvious reason, there is lot of others that need few pages to list down.
I do have weird ticklish feeling at my back occasionlly when I standing in front to view my fish. I do see shadow flying around especially in my house, sometime is a human form. My daughter when she was 2 years old ever pointed at window & cry with fear (like she saw something), run back to us with fear by looking at the wall (as those she saw something frighten her) when she 3 years, she once scared of night, she told us she don't want to sleep, keep trying to stay awake. ever wake up middle of night & talking "you go away, don't want you to stay here etc etc".
Some of my church members suggested it could be the fish i kept, i am willing to let go but somehow still trying to find hard proved that is due to the fish.
Dude, you just questioned god.Originally posted by Repented John 2:Are you sure? Sounds new age to me.
I didnt. I questioned the statement that all powers on earth comes from God. This is new age theology.Originally posted by laurence82:Dude, you just questioned god.
That isnt. Isnt God the creator? Wasnt it mention in the bible?Originally posted by Repented John 2:I didnt. I questioned the statement that all powers on earth comes from God. This is new age theology.
Whoa! what a story.... I'd encourage you to speak to your pastor and have some church leaders come and pray in your house. The fish may only be a channel, getting rid of it may not help.Originally posted by JLM6509:Thanks for all reply. Let me share my story, i do believed in fengshui before i accepted Christ. yes, nothing spiritual of keeping fish but it depand how 'passionate' you are on the fish. 1st thing you reached home, wake up is to look at the fish. Wake up middle of the night is to look at the fish, every week must go fish shop 2 - 3 times or more, (church only every Sunday, prayer also for the fish). What occupied those ppl mind & heart ? Still got place for God ? i doubt so, i once are in that state.Originally posted by vince69:Me Christian Believer and I still keep fish, had been doing this since young age, now scaled down alot cause no time to take care of them.
Personally I would like to keep an arowana, but realised that I do not have that much of time to take care of it, so now keeping only Goldfish.
In principle, there is nothing spiritual about keeping arowana, like my late mother used to says, good also one sentance, bad also one sentance, its all depends on the speaker's perspective.
So to keep or not to keep the fish, its entirely up to your own perspective of it.
By the way my daughter when she was young, also keep saying that she sees another girl in her room, and she keep telling us to chase her away, later we realised that she was imagining Goldilock (the one from the story of three bears) had managed to breakinto our house and eat her food, play with her toys. so for your daughter maybe a good talk with her is needed.
What is a born-again christian? YOu mean like last birth a christian and then this birth christian?Originally posted by Chin Eng:Some are Christians some are not..... Some are mature some are not..... no rules in coming into EH.
Christians should not and do not subscribe to the fengshui philosophy.
"Strange" stories remain as stories. Each culture has their own folk lore, like black cat walking pass you, or walking under ladders... You don't have to believe them.
If your conscience bothers you, than get rid of the fish. No need to lose sleep over it.
If you are a born-again Christian, note that your God is almighty.
We all have hobbies, one of my hobbies is collecting swords. In some culture, swords are considered items with supernatural power.... I collect because of the designs....
But my initial intention of keeping it is wrong....Originally posted by Chin Eng:.... and one more thing.... I have friends in church that love fishes.... arowanas are one of those they keep... without being burdened by the feng shui angle.
I don't keep fishes.... tried that once, they all died.....
