It may be sooner than we think. I was listening to a radio program over the internet the other day and it was talking about when Christ would return again, which would be around 2000 years after He was crucified.
The thing that was revelation to me was that in the old days, a year was made up of 360 days and if you take into account this calculation, we are now in the year 2032 and not 2005.

There are three classes of Christians John with respect to assurance of salvation.
1) There is a person who doesn't know that he is saved but is saved. This is due to a faith so feeble and so small. This particular Christian is often beset with fears and doubts regarding salvation. May God comfort and grant this type of Christian full assurance.
2) There is a Christian who is tottering from being sure of being saved to doubting his salvation. One time he is sure he is saved, another he is cringing in fear because of doubts and fears. I belong to this category.
3) There is the fully assured Christian. I envy this Christian. He is usually up there in the ladder of holiness, for full assurance of salvation results in increased holiness. He is the indefatigable worker in the field of evangelism. He is the Christian who does great exploits for our Lord.
REad the biographies of the giants in the faith, they are usually the ones fully assured of their salvation. -

by changes, i mean, changes in your life like marks of holiness and godliness whereas before we are void of these things.
Yes, John we are always struggling in this side of glory. In this side of glory we are called the Church MILITANT. WE are in a battle against the world system of evil, temptations and against our remaining corruption of self, against this sin in us.
By your answer that you trust in Christ alone for salvation, yes you are ready.
Though we may not always feel it.
Yes, we are saved by faith IN CHRIST.
Beware of Satan though misdirecting your faith by placing your faith in faith and not in Christ.
When the Bible says we are saved by faith. It always means we are saved by our faith in Christ. FAith no matter how genuine if it is anchored on the wrong object does not save anyone. SAving faith is saving because it takes hold of the Savior. -

Actually, there are two answers you will get with this question.
1) The Christian who embraces covenant theology will say that when Christ comes He will judge the living and the dead [Judgement Day] and eternity will ensue
2) The Christian who embraces dispensational, premillinial theology says that there are several things will take place when the Lord Jesus Christ comes;
a) Judgement of the nations b) He will reign for a thousand years after this e) the Judgement of all the unsaved from all of time f) eternity
I believe that this one here the dispensational view is biblical to the core. Some people believe that the Lord Christ second coming is just a single isolated event that will transpire within an hour or so.
But actually no. His Second Coming is a period of time , just like His first coming here two thousand years ago. When He first came He did not just stay here for about two to three hours, no He, stayed here for about 33 years. And this will be so in His Second Coming also, He will come judge the nations and reign for a thousand years on earth.
He was rejected here on earth as king and Messiah when He first came, and when He comes again the Second time He will reign in victory and glory here on earth where He was rejected as king. -

Maybe the thread will incite holy examination to the saved souls. Many Christians have slumbered about the truth of the Second Coming. This can be seen in the careless lives of Christians. While many still who are not Christians who mentally believe the teachings of the Bible but have delayed repentance from sin.
Maybe the question will need to be re-echoed again to them to bring them out of complacency: "Are you ready for the Second Coming of Christ?"
Who knows God might use this question to stir them up to examine the state of their souls and have this holy concern for their salvation. right?

Bring them out so that people will be evangelized and edified.
I don't even mind preaching in the mall, if the mall authorities would allow me
even if i would look crazy to other people. Even if other Christians would criticize my methods.
Paul rejoiced when the gospel is preached whatever was the motive behind the preaching of the gospel.
Php 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will:
16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains;
17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
18 What then? Only that in EVERY WAY, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.
I hope we will learn from Paul. And I'm sure Paul would not mind whatever methods the gospel is preached as long as the gospel is preached. Instead of sniping at the other unscrupulous preachers of the gospel Paul rejoiced.
