Hey, with that note, I really wonders if Christ will return during our generation.Originally posted by breytonhartge:as ready as I can be.
It may be sooner than we think. I was listening to a radio program over the internet the other day and it was talking about when Christ would return again, which would be around 2000 years after He was crucified.
The thing that was revelation to me was that in the old days, a year was made up of 360 days and if you take into account this calculation, we are now in the year 2032 and not 2005.
Just a thought...
How to know? Who will decide? Is it God or me? I still have a gnawing sense of fear that i might not be ready or worse left behind. How to be ready?Originally posted by breytonhartge:as ready as I can be.

I think I am but pls read my reply to BH.Originally posted by Ironside:Are you?
Actually John your question is about assurance of salvation. If you know you are saved then you know your ready right? But the question is: "how do i know if i am saved?"Originally posted by Repented John 2:I think I am but pls read my reply to BH.
Originally posted by Ironside:Yes, you hit jackpot. The question is whether i am saved or not. I think i am, so I should be ready right? Yes, i trust in Christ alone for salvation. What do you mean changes? I am always struggling bcos of some sickness but i know I am saved by faith. Yes, i have repentance. So i am ready??

John answers us:
1Jo 5:13 [b]These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
Do you trust in the Lord Jesus alone for salvation? if yes, then you have eternal life. You are ready.
Be aware though that Satan has not changed. He is still a lier and a deciever.
He makes unsaved people think that they are saved and make saved people think that they are unsaved.
So better examine yourself:
1) ARe you trusting in Christ alone for salvation?
2) Are there changes no matter how feeble and small in you?
3) Is there repentance?

You are ready brother, if you trust in Christ alone for salvation.Originally posted by Repented John 2:Yes, you hit jackpot. The question is whether i am saved or not. That's a good question there.Originally posted by shade343:So what is going to happen when Christ comes?
Now that you have ask that question, here are the possible things about this thread.Originally posted by M©+square:I don't see a point in this thread.
Really.

Then i'd rather you preach here to edify.Originally posted by Ironside:Now that you have ask that question, here are the possible things about this thread.
Maybe the thread will incite holy examination to the saved souls. Many Christians have slumbered about the truth of the Second Coming. This can be seen in the careless lives of Christians. While many still who are not Christians who mentally believe the teachings of the Bible but have delayed repentance from sin.
Maybe the question will need to be re-echoed again to them to bring them out of complacency: "Are you ready for the Second Coming of Christ?"
Who knows God might use this question to stir them up to examine the state of their souls and have this holy concern for their salvation. right?
point to believers: edificatory
point to non believers: evangelistic
Sometimes it is better to have it in a discussion type. Somtimes people don't like reading. There are people who learn more in discussion type of evangelism. It's called group dynamics.Originally posted by M©+square:Then i'd rather you preach here to edify.
And let the readers who read be evangelised.
Cheers
That's good brother...........then apply your ideas here and help out.Originally posted by M©+square:I could have thought of 10 other topic titles which could possibly edify and might have evangelism purposes.
But no substance lor.
Not attacking you la. Just my opinion.
Cheers
you'd be very awed and surprised if you knew the purposes that God has in store for the "elect"Originally posted by dragg:then how?
go to heaven? what are you going to do in heaven?
dude it takes the earth 365 and 1/4 days to orbit around the sun. if we take that into account, its not even year 2000Originally posted by breytonhartge:as ready as I can be.
