I was abt to recommend there tooOriginally posted by SingaporeMacross:haha, you shd read Islam Forum's article on Pork.
Interestingly, Jews don't eat sea creatures with no fins and scales in accordance to their kashrut dietary laws.Originally posted by klydeer:advice by the Lord to eat or not eat anything is more in consideration for the health of man.
example: anything that has not fins and scales is considered unclean. so this is in line with what was biologically found that shrimps are "unclean" because they are designed to be filter feeders of the ocean. Their toxic purge systems are also not as efficient as fishes with scales.
Consequently, when we eat shrimps, we are also consuming some bits of what they pick up from the ocean and not purge. Read that calcium kidney stones is a common disease for those who consume too much of unclean sea creatures.
nah, i just go there if i see it on newest topics..Originally posted by laurence82:I was abt to recommend there too

Thank you. not too concerned about jewish laws but will try to read up since you recommended.Originally posted by fudgester:Interestingly, Jews don't eat sea creatures with no fins and scales in accordance to their kashrut dietary laws.
We Muslims don't have any restrictions on seafood, though from what I heard, sea creatures with no fins or scales are not preferred.
