Sorry, I don't quite get it.... the links above has no reference to karaoke, and as far as I can make out, the articles talked about proper worship through songs.
On the topic: to me, there is no such thing as Christian karaoke. Christian singing and karaoke singing are mutually exclusive.
The first one is a worship where songs are sung specifically to God and to encourage the people of God,
The second type of singing is done mainly as a form of entertainment, or stress relief.
Sure, one can purchase a minus-one disk and use it as a worship background music, but this is not karaoke.
Personally, I think he is refering to singing christian songs in a ktv environment.
you may be right, singing worship songs in this context does sounds funny.
but I personally see no harm in singing edification songs (songs that are meant reminds us of who God is)
example:
worship songs (songs sing to worship God) :
Abide With Me [Henry Francis Lyte (1793–1847) ]

The Holy Trinity [Reginald Heber (1783–1826) ]

edification songs (songs that tell/remind eachother about God) :
A Mighty Fortress is Our God [Martin Luther. Tr. Frederick Henry Hedge (1483–1546) ]

Now Thank We All Our God [Martin Rinkart. Tr. Catherine Winkworth (1586–1649) ]

these are just example of how I personally view/categorise (in a general way) the songs we sing.
