  Johor did not transfer its sovereignity to Malaysia. Johor IS Malaysia. The sultans of Johor enjoy citizenship in Malaysia.

  Relinquish, transfer....it just mean Johor is no longer an independent nation by itself and is subjected to the governance of Putrajaya, with some exemptions maybe.
