Book of Genesis Chapter 1

Question:
Explain verse 1? Was Heaven not created already? and when was the "Beginning"?
Verse 2 and 3, I am confused here, is it true to say dat everything was dark in the beginning???
If God is the God of Light, then how come got darkness and when was the fall of Satan???
Dont wana start a flame war, so lets have some matured arguments here. Appreciate it.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: 2 Cor. 4.6 and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. -
A topic like this will inevitability lead to:
1. A debate between Christians and non-Christians on the concept of creation vs evolution.
2. A debate between the above two groups on the validity of the Bible.
3. A debate among Christians between the New Earth and the Old Earth theory.
Been there, done that.... no purpose, no point.
Genesis should be read from the perspective of a Hebrew as it was primarily addressed to the Hebrew population.

everything is dark .. makes sense .. 'cos there wasn't any matter or energy in the beginning.
lol .. you think God lights up the place where-ever he goes ah?

hehehe....i was also quite stunned when a non-believer friend of mine asked me this question so it kinda got my head cracking as well. Guess would be good to ask the lao jiaos over here for feedback. -
