THE DISCO: ONE STARLIGHT, SHINING BRIGHT (major event)

The Disco was held on the 3 Dec from 7.30-12am, it was held at the Church of St Anthony. For me, it is a wonderful and enjoyable event for every youths. It was first started by Living Waters in 1985, with 130 tickets sold. This is the 6th time this year, the disco was organised.
It also organised in 1989, 1993, 1997 & 2001.
Since there are minors arounds, no alcohol was served there.

what do they do there? in the disco? pray to God?

A place for worship has becomed a place for dancing??? -
It was held at the 3rd level of the cathecism classrooms (1 room for the BAR, and 2 rooms for the Dance Floor), not the main mass room, of course. Yup, Priscilla organised the disco, member of Living Waters in 2000.Originally posted by maggot:Disco in the church???

errr...but shouldnt a church be a sacred sanctuary of GOD? i'm pretty surprised that the Church Board allowed the approval for this event.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:YUp, correct.

The Summary:
1900-1930
Preparation of the BAR COUNTER & 2 rooms used for the disco. (Empty boxes of liquor/alcoholic drinks were used as decorative purposes only. They also have the Glowing light, and of course food & drinks)
1930-1945 Fr Terence & Priscilla to say the blessings of the disco.
1950-2330 The disco began. 2 of the raps are helping out on the sound system.
2330-2400 All youths (except Living Waters to clean up and remove decorations on the disco)
I was there to share about my experience on discussions at SGForums too including my friends there. Also, I drank about 10 cups of fizzy drinks there.
Soon, PRISCILLA, SHERYL & SHEILA told me not to jump while dancing, and also to relax because it feels tired after dancing too vigourously.

Rather then going to pub to dance. They provide a better environment that is good for the youngsters. I'm not from any church, just to give my honest opinion.

went to this Christian pub once - called the Ark I think, kids jamming on the stage. didn't get it... -

I think they've got all the focus all wrong.
If not, they've better got a concrete motive for doing so. -
In actual facts of LW, it is a media youth group. It does Powerpoint presentation, Sunset/Sunday mass attachments and also helped out on certain activities.Originally posted by NT2:hmmm...then wat is the mission of LW?
The Retreat & Camps are also plays a significant role to Apex-LW'21.
