  For a Christian the bible is God's living word, Jesus himself said that nothing will pass away till he comes again.
  
  God is also a consistent God, He does not change, otherwise, we cannot have any assurance of our salvation and His grace. He says so in the bible.
  
  The bible is God's standard, not ours, it is insight into how He thinks and what He expects of us.
