Ever been caught in a situation where your immediate Boss tells you to fire 1 of your subordinates??? or even in situations where retrenchment exercise is to be carried out & you are to be the culprit to act on it???
In this case, where do our Christian values stand cause Jesus taught us to be gracious & merciful. Then again, its a scenario whereby its either them or you.
How much you pray knowing dat the person u gona fire has got a family to feed etc etc...
How then to be a living testimony???
The situation you quoted is not extraordinary.
We need to understand that besides wearing the hat of a Christian, we also have many other hats to wear. If you are a HR person, this type of situation is quite normal and does not conflict with your faith.
To be gracious, merciful, compassionate etc at a personal level is given, however, if, because of our job function, we need to fulfil our roles and responsibilities, we need also to understand that because we are Christian, being a good steward in your work is also equally important. The requirement to be gracious and merciful does not overule to requirement to be responsible for our job and the company that we work for.
I'd stop short of being pressured to cheat for the company.
