i am quite curious what kind of message and how did u receive it?Originally posted by babyys:Alot of times, i wonder if messages i receive is it from God or rather my mind is playing games with me. So how do i know if God or the Holy Spirit is speaking to me??? I am quite a skeptic in dat sense whereby i would want a confirmation to watever message dat i receive.

Am currently still there. No idea man....i am in a state of confusion. Let's not get into some political crap. Its the last thing on my mind.Originally posted by M©+square:transit to CHC or from CHC to elsewhere?
Its like recently i have been having recurring dreams bout the scene in the Lord's Supper but in a slightly different context.Originally posted by laoda99:i am quite curious what kind of message and how did u receive it?
I understand where u r coming from. I personally am a bit cheesed wz the "health, Wealth, $$, Blessings" stuff. I have nothing against the church going high-tech after all in order to reach out the younger new generation we also have to follow with the times. However, i feel there should be some decernment in the doctrines dat they preach. Perhaps i am still a tradition at heart.Originally posted by mistyblue:Be careful of messages from so call messangers of god...
If really there is divinition, and there is a message for you, you will receive it directly through life's events...

If you have doubts whether it's from Holy Spirit or ur mind is playing games, then it's not Holy Spirit.
To know it's a message from God, it happens when you don't have any doubts it's a message/ guidance from God.
You need to seek. Wholeheartedly. And then you will be convinced.
Hope that can help.
I know it's of good intention la.Originally posted by Li Ka Shing:Pardon?

test it against the bible and also test the spirit... check within yourself as well as the Holy Spirit dwells in you... do you have God's peace?Originally posted by sillyme:Please refrain from straying the topic to discussing on a pastor.
For me, it is important to have a daily time set aside to communicate with God. That would mean reading the bible, praying and waiting on Him. As Chin Eng mentioned, we have to test everything against the Bible.
amen to this!Originally posted by breytonhartge:test it against the bible and also test the spirit... check within yourself as well as the Holy Spirit dwells in you... do you have God's peace?
Thanks for your input. Really helped cleared some doubts.Originally posted by breytonhartge:test it against the bible and also test the spirit... check within yourself as well as the Holy Spirit dwells in you... do you have God's peace?
Your CGL didn't teach on this?Originally posted by babyys:Thanks for your input. Really helped cleared some doubts.
You have certainly opened my eyes to a greater insight. Really appreciate it. Guess i should not be such an idealogist, cause all the while for me seeing is believing, alot of times i use my head & not my heart and i really need to work on that aspect.Originally posted by Chin Eng:Superficially a good answer.... My take?
1. Every self-proclaimed Christian WILL CHECK with the Bible. The problem is not the checking, but the interpretation. No self respecting church leader will say that Satan will win. I have heard too many leades proclaim a verse as a revelation (and mandate) for them to embark on a programme only to see the programme falling flat in the face within 2 yrs.
2. Depending on the church. Seems the the new-age churches' leaders follow their pastors to the word, as oppose to, say, my church where pastors can be wrong, and can be outvoted by the lay-leaders. If the church leaders and their pastors sing the same song ALL (or most of) THE TIME, it is likely to be a personality cult. Especially when the pastor concern is always perceived to do-no-wrong.
3. Refer to point 1. No self-respecting Christian leader will avoid this phrase - let's pray about it. Substantially, where does that lead us? It will still lead to point 2.... a darn vicious cycle.
My own yardstick?
A tree will be known by the fruits it produces.
I am in a ministry, my ministry flourishes, there is a constant supply of workers, the people that I am reaching out to are benefitting, the church is benefitting from the efforts and places priority to support it.... and lastly, I, as the ministry leader IS NOT glorified by it and I am willling to reliquish it anytime to allow for a better leader to take over.
God did not speak to me (using the traditional understanding), but I feel God has used me in a way I thought not possible.
I saw a need, I addressed the need trusting God's providence.
Having said all that, my approach may not be suitable to all. To those who feel that falling on their knees work for them, it's fine with me.
Let's just put it this way, i can't seem to get answers even wen i approach my CGL. AND to get to speak to a pastor, it takes a whole lot of protocol so usually i just forget it & let it pass.Originally posted by M©+square:Your CGL didn't teach on this?
