1. Some Christians subscribe to the belief that this means that you and your gf is "unequally yoked"
2. Most churches will NOT conduct the wedding if the gf is NOT willing to convert to Christianity.
3. You need to ask yourself your personal stand with regards to point 1.
4. If you feel strongly that being "unequally yoked" is a critical teaching, then it will lead to point 2 because you will want a church wedding. If....
5 You don't feel that being "unequally yoked" is important than you may not need the church wedding - therefore points 1 and 2, above, does not matter.
Up to this point, it's easy - everything hinges on how YOU feel as a Christian. I will not give you my opinion on the "unequally yoked" issue. It's your personal conviction.
After that, things may not be so clear cut. Meaning, what do you do if you want to worship God on sabbath (note that worshipping God is not an option, really). Will your wife follow you, will it cause a certain level of dissonance in the family, will it eventually lead you AWAY from God? This are just some of the more obvious questions that needed answering.
On the flip side, I have seen non-Christian spouses coming to Christ because of the faith of the Christian spouse. -

it only means that we should not mix a Christian's and a non-Christian's beliefs together. For example, a Christian wife should not subscribe to Fengshui if her non-Christian husband believes in it.
Another example is the offering of hell money. One may eat the offerings, offer joss sticks ONLY as a sign of respect, but NEVER partake in the burning of hell money.
If Christians were not allowed to marry non-Christians, then a lot of us wouldn't be Christian. -

2 Cor 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismated alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness?
I don't think believers should use this verse commonly as a triumph card for seperating couples or advising against non believing spouse.
Yes like what Rainee have posted, this verse shouldn't be a quote which represents opposition to 'unwholesome' marriage.
Unless there are other verses which can support these verse in regard to Issues of Marriage and Courtship.
Be reminded Apostle Paul did not have direct answers regarding marriage or celibacy. He gave his opinion which he thought was 'good'.
Otherwise i'll advise people to re-look into quotation of 2 Cor 6:14 about this issue.

Contextually, there was a misquote or a better use of word is slight misinterpretation of 2 Cor 6:14.
But yet it also can be quoted for this purpose, depending on how the counsellor goes about presenting this verse.
There is a significance in marriage of Christians which you might understand when you've truly converted to a believer.
Of cos every marriage is as important because in the Eyes of God. Two person will commune to one and never part.

2 Corinthians 6 was not written about marriage specifically. Sometimes, some articles are written with an attempt to tie 2 Corinthians 6 and 1 Corinthians 13. Not too accurate, I am afraid.
