and islamic terrorists must not be malay oso.Originally posted by AF2005:terrorist have many kinds. ira terrorists, jihad terrorist, al qeada, and etc.
here mostly dealing with islamic terrorists like JI. They choose bali because, a lot of ang mo foreigners go there and population consists of hindus, muslim and etc. Its the easiest target as other targets too well guarded although still penetrable. The danger is not knowing whats their next target?
Its an enemy among us which makes them so dangerous.
a. Try to read some valuable insights from Malays who posted in the first few pagesOriginally posted by Dr Who:Come back to he opic a hand- why are there no Malay Christians?
Is it because of their Culture/Religion which has an in-bulit resistance to change? If so, the theology that man has emptiness without Christ does not apply as the Malay is totally happy with his religion.
The hunger for Jesus.........how do you evoke this ? By prayer alone?
play cheat one lah. Muslims dun need to learn also can sianz something to appear intelligent. 'cos they map their understanding of their Qu'ran to ubiquitous names like Moses, David, Adam etc.Originally posted by SocialOutcast:Actually I think a lot of Muslims know quite a lot about Christianity too, even without Christians evangelizing.
Like in my school forum got one Muslim claim he read the Bible 4 times before. (Well, I haven't even finished once) though he had many misunderstandings. And he personally listens to debates between Muslim and Christian theologians.
Do Muslims learn about Christianity in mosques too? eg. what is wrong with Christianity etc.
U christian? There are translated Qurans... and is bible original language english???????Originally posted by SocialOutcast:huh...what play cheat one? dont understand.
Ya its true Christians dunno much about Islam....i mean Muslims can just get the bible anywhere, just buy one and it comes in English. Christians how to read Arab? Only way is to go onto the net to find out more, or ask Muslims themselves.
.. as in they not as sak3 as you may think.Originally posted by SocialOutcast:huh...what play cheat one? dont understand.
Pardon my ignorance.... but what's 'sak3'?Originally posted by Icemoon:.. as in they not as sak3 as you may think.
how to translate ah?Originally posted by fudgester:Pardon my ignorance.... but what's 'sak3'?
It can be translated, and yes, English translations do exist. In fact, I bought an English translation of the Quran by JM Rodwell from MPH a few months ago.Originally posted by SocialOutcast:sak3 ...means...hmm...'impressive'?
if my hokkien is good enough hehe.
No bible original language is Greek and Aramaic (NT) and of course OT is in Hebrew.
I didnt know Koran got english versions...I thought Muslims not supposed to translate and it can only be read in the true form ie. arabic? correct me if im wrong.
Hmm .. dunno you are a Muslim. Nice to meet you.Originally posted by fudgester:It can be translated, and yes, English translations do exist. In fact, I bought an English translation of the Quran by JM Rodwell from MPH a few months ago.
The thing is, we Muslims hold the original Arabic version as the true version of the Quran. The main reason for this is that we don't want any scribal errors in the translation process. Also, the Arab language is a rich language, and words and meanings can get lost in translation.
To sum it up... there's nothing wrong for us Muslims to read the Quran in another language, just as long as the translation is done correctly and keeping in mind that the original Arabic version is the definitive one.
Yes, prayers and Quran reading sessions in the mosque are done in Arabic. We Muslims are taught to read Arabic since young.Originally posted by Icemoon:Hmm .. dunno you are a Muslim. Nice to meet you.
Btw .. can I confirm .. the Mosque readings are always done in Arabic? Then if dunno Arabic then how?
Do you mind clarifying your statement as to how we Muslims 'play cheat' in knowing what we know about Christianity?
play cheat one lah. Muslims dun need to learn also can sianz something to appear intelligent. 'cos they map their understanding of their Qu'ran to ubiquitous names like Moses, David, Adam etc.
but Christians leh? Dunno a @&@! about the accounts of The Prophet (PBUH). Dunno a @&@! about the Muslim Hadith.
'cos Chrisitanity is almost like popular culture (we ignore misconceptions for now). When The Prince of Egypt animation came out, I remember Time or Newsweek did a writeup. Then we have the Dan Brown saga and books and documentaries came out.Originally posted by fudgester:What I do know about Christianity comes from many different sources. Not all of them are from the Quran, or Islamic sources, for that matter. I remember having quite interesting and fruitful discussions with my Christian friends. We weren't trying to convert each other or anything, we were simply sharing our thoughts on what each of us believed in.
Hmm .. taught by who?Originally posted by fudgester:Yes, prayers and Quran reading sessions in the mosque are done in Arabic. We Muslims are taught to read Arabic since young.
Yes true.. but it is compulsory for u to learn... not just to go madrasah... No arab= no prayer= sinOriginally posted by Icemoon:Hmm .. taught by who?
My impression is unless you go to madrasah, the knowledge will only be rudimentary.
Learn from who?Originally posted by SBS9828X:Yes true.. but it is compulsory for u to learn... not just to go madrasah... No arab= no prayer= sin
