Sadly to say also, pure Malay names are almost non-existent today. However, in the olden days, the Malays used common conversational and descriptional words as names. Some examples are; Buang (throw), Kechot (shrink), Dara (virgin) and even days like Isnin (Monday), Khamis (Thursday) etc.
"Bin" is the Malay derivative of the Arabic word "Ibni" which means "son of". -

Is it because no evangelism? Because against the law? Because Malay culture incompatible with Christianity? Because Islam is more attractive to Malays?
Or is it Christians don't care? I have never heard any christian pray for the souls of the Malays........yah, they pray for All the lost souls.......but I doubt if they consciously include this particular people in their minds................. -

If a malay ever converts and his community finds out, he will be outcasted and ex communicated. Thats what my malay friend told me.

my fren told me it is very troublesome to renounce islam here. Think you gotta go to the authority and ask for permission, and it may not always be granted. That's why normally for cross religious marriage involving a muslim, normally it is the other party who renounce his/her religion and join islam.

The :you: which i'm referring to is not Icemoon.
Do you realise that which ever church visit to, it will always look ok to you?
But if you have a friend serving actively in that certain church which you've visited. They'll somehow face their problems in the church.
Every church have their unsaid problems. Whether leadership or church culture or congregation or teaching etc.
You can see the problem clearly when you start joining the church and serve actively.
Other possiblities which influences your judgement:
Having a group of friends who have negetive feelings towards church
Joining a group who have problems with church peers or leadership.
Bad personal experience.
Personally, i always ask myself why the turnover rates of Christians so high. So many people have at least been to church but dropout disbelieving the scripture altogether.
I likely answer will be :bad experience.

Off-topic though but...
Muslims can marry Christians/Jewish without having any side to convert to another religion. This is commonly termed among Muslims in the region as Civic Marriage (Kahwin Sivik). Only when a Muslim chooses to marry a person from other religions than those mentioned, then one party must choose to convert. -
