  It's easier to run 5km on the road than on the threadmill because you have much more control on your pace.

  reminds me of a microsoft game long long time ago - think it's called olympics. use you finger to simulate a 100m dash. Freaking tired fingers after that + a broken keyboard very soon.
  
  I use a stationary bicycle 3 to 4 times a week. Do a 45 min routine reaching about 24 km.
  
  Cannot for the life of me, run. Running to me is singular the most punishing of all exercise.

  hey hey don't be bias. the game was also playable using DOS. i cannot for the life of me remember the name of the incumbent decathalon star in that game.

  heh heh heh.. i remember that game well coz you needed a pair of paddles (you know... the knobs which you turn to play Pong with) or an analogue joystick with buttons to play...
  
  shot putt always ended negative
  
  and the hardest was the 400m coz by the end of that button mashing session, you'd get RSI and a messed up keyboard

  okay, now I know how fortunate I was - some more I was one of the first who had a hard disk when my peers had a double floppy disk drive - a super high capacity 40mb.
