Why do Christians question so much?

I just had a word with an ex-Methodist who still very much believes in God.
But he refuses to attend any service.
He said that he has too many questions on the bible not answered.
Why do some people allow too many questions to get in their head and in their way to God? -

should be SOME christians (minority actually) -
It's true.
Some people are just created this way.
Why? Ask God?
Only divine intervention will clear the obstacle.

cuz they forget that their basis of salvation comes from faith in Christ, and faith alone.
there are many things in the bible which are beyond human's comprehension, creation, end times etc.. how god can create eve from ribs.. etc etc.
but we're not called to live a blind faith either, there are many things in the bible which is explained to us, to give us sufficient evidence of god's existance, and god's plan. but human, being curious beings, are only interested in finding out what they don't know, and ignoring what they do know already.
and when they cannot get the answer, or do not understand the answer, they deny everything, claiming the teachings are faulty and of no "scientific basis"
how can man ever hope to understand everything the way an omnipotent god can? we are to god, like little insects are to us.

Refusing to attend services might have many reasons? -
It's ok to be a Saint Thomas bcos he is still a Saint in the end. Just dont stop going to church or Christian gatherings or reading up about the bible. If St. Thomas didnt go back to the upper room, how could he have believed while the rest believed already? Jesus is a kind God & saviour. The prophets in the OT also ask a lot of questions wah. Nothng wrong to ask questions.
Maybe you can advise your friend to attend a bible study class. Or ask him/her to list down all his/her doubts so that we may help him solve the mystery.

I disagree with you. For example book of Job, some bible scholars think that the book of Job is not written by himself, by somebody(which I can't remember who now?) . God speak to His children differently. God is more verbal to the saints in the OT. During Jesus time, God speak to us through Jesus, after Jesus return to heaven, through the apostles. Now God speak to us through the bible. Does God still speak to us today? Maybe we should be still and know that He is God. Maybe we can hear His voice.

Attending services is ironically a good way to seek - because it is the Audience of One. Many people allow questions to get into their head because they rely too much on themselves to want to solve problems. actually a lot of christians have doubt.
the only thing is they convince themselves or one another with 'the lord's thinking is not something we can understand'. -

I agree with klydeer.
It's ok to have questions. The problem comes only if we sit on it and stop seeking an answer.
As to answer why, it's just their personality. It's a human behaviour, not unique to some christians only. -

hmm... as for Christians asking questions, i think its good to ask questions, but it really is pointless in seeking a human answer to a divine question. many Christian already have the answer to which they ask, but more often than not they reject it because its not the answer that they wld like to hear...

The strongest faith is the one that survives the questions and then as the answers. Believing what you do because you have looked at everything and truly believe it is far stronger than simply having faith and then accepting what you are told. If you don't address the questions as they come, they will build and eventually will weigh on you as a huge burden that could lead you to think your faith is a sham.
