I think the equation that the Charismatics, concerning tongues, must understand is that the tongues during "praying/speaking in tongues" at the time of Acts and Corinth are known languages.
For example, say we are back to the time of Acts. Say ChinEng spoke in "tongues", and fandango, honeybunz, JTB and Icemoon were present.
fandago (a german), hears ChinEng's "tongues" in German
honeybunz (an italian), hears ChinEng's "tongues" in Italian
John the Baptist (a Chinese), hears ChinEng's "tongues" in Mandarin
Icemoon (a Spaniard), hears ChinEng's "tongues" in Spanish
So when Paul talks about the need for the translation of the "tongues" it means for Icemoon to translate ChinEng's "tongues" to a Spanish congregation, or honeybunz to a Italian congregation.
Tongues during the time of Acts and Corinth are surely not the "Yabaduba shilimalishi wakijikoloyojko" tongues we see practised in Charismatic churches today.
So in reflection, can it be that the tongues used today are actually satanic tongues? -
