Dear JTB,
Allow me to quote you ?
"I was reading further & it really spoke to me."
May i ask - What is it in that passage that the Lord spoke to you about ? Any life examples ?
Thank you.

This is blasphemy against Buddha & Buddhists. Luckily this is not Buddhist forum or i dont know what will happen. Anyway, Buddhists are very tolerant & they can take this kind of blasphemies i think.Originally posted by Evanglion:Amitaba.. MoneY MoneY Hong!
i dont know what blasphemies there are, but money money hong is just a hocus pocus colloquial figure of speech.Originally posted by John The Baptist:This is blasphemy against Buddha & Buddhists. Sorry it didnt come as "plain" - perhaps i do not have the "IQ" (as you mentioned) to understand you.Originally posted by John The Baptist:Well as i said i read further & the passage i quoted was very plain isnt it? Well, i read abt buddhism before & encountered some of their chants & anyway, i was from buddhist/taoist family lah. As i said i was the first in the family tree & the first in my family to be converted. See how stressful that can be? I dont think the buddhists when they chant om mani pradme hum or mani mani hum, they will thinking abt money bcos sacrilegious lah. Zou huo ru muo!Originally posted by laurence82:i dont know what blasphemies there are, but money money hong is just a hocus pocus colloquial figure of speech.
Why so bothered? I rem few days ago someone made a fuss of 'oh my god', again....

But, i dont at all agree to your conclusion that we humans can never understand what God is doing. Not all of what God is - Yes, but if we dont even understand the meaning of Love - which is "God's doing" no matter if you like it or not - we cannot have Life. Seek God, and He will give you understanding.
And i certaintly do not agree with you about tagging IQ levels to understanding God's words. Intelligence is not a requirement of carrying the cross - Willingness is the "requirement".
"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve" - 1 Peter 5:1-3
"But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul." - Deu 4: 29
Notice the Lord didnt say - "with all your mind ? or IQ ?"
Lastly, i think its not important to what "chim" people talks about - its ALL important what the Lord talks about - to YOU.

Eh i have heard of hundreds who backslided in S'pore & thousands ard the world. So who am i (reminds me of Jackie Chan's movie)?Originally posted by Ito_^:suddenly, JTB reminds me of someone.. he backslided le.
Some who have high IQ but are spiritually blind. Some who are just commoners or the poor but they understand the bible much better than them. They are spiritually riched inside. We came to this world physcially alive but spiritually dead. We must be born again to understand God's words.Originally posted by John The Baptist:Sorry abt this IQ thing. But God did say to love Him with all our hearts, souls, minds, & strengths in the first commandment. Also Paul said to renew our minds by the Word of God daily. I dont have bible verses w me so pls confirm if i am correct.
Anyway, many times dont understand what God is talking abt but now much better. I was blinded but i now i see better.

The last one not accurate. Don't think you can find strong support from Scripture.Originally posted by sabaisabai:Interesting ideas, John the Baptist.
You've got to love Christianity. A good man can go to hell because he comits a sin a moment before death. A sinner can go to heaven because he repents of his sins a moment before death. A non-Christian can go to hell because he doesn't believe in Christ even if he hasn't heard of him! (okay, the last one is from a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses who knocked at our door)
I'm not challenging anybody. I believe in God and Christ, but not the church. Two of the three are real. (okay, maybe I am challenging somebody )Originally posted by Icemoon:here comes a new challenger .. sabaisabai!
Erm, I'd take the moral of the analogy to be "get in the lifeboat". You can pray to God to win toto but he can't help you if you don't buy a ticket.Originally posted by Icemoon:The moral of the analogy is .. do you know we are all drowning?
nope.Originally posted by sabaisabai:Erm, I'd take the moral of the analogy to be "get in the lifeboat". You can pray to God to win toto but he can't help you if you don't buy a ticket.
