A disciple has to follow closely to what Jesus said & the rest of the Bible, just like the apostles in 1st century AD. Paul exhort Timothy to follow what he did & to be good eg to all. Nevertheless, Jesus did say that Christians have to carry their crosses, not look back, & even abandoning family & property, count the cost of following him etc. It's all in the gospels. But who really could-not even Peter or John in their own strength when Christ was crucified? However, when Peter, John & all the rest knew He is alive, they were fired up again & eventually were martyred or exiled in John's case. So we need the Holy Spirit's help bcos we can never do it in our own strength. God bless u!
