  There is a need to understand that the title "saint" is man made. Its not a title from God.

  When we pray to saints, we ask them to intercede for us. When we honour them we remember their good deeds and sacrifices. Worship is reserved for God alone.

  Actually, anyone who goes to heaven is automatically a saint. It's just the offically canonised saints are just, well, on the records for everybody to see and learn from.
