Is the Protestant Reformation finished in the U.S.?

  I have been wondering if the Protestant Reformation finished in the U.S.? Heard that membership in some churches there are dropping and people there are begining to be more hostile to Christianity. How true is that? Any expert or guru knows?

  Okay, I rephrase.
  
  I heard that in the U.S or U.K, some churches are closed because the memberships are very low. And they sold away their churches. (Heard from some pastors who went there)
  
  I also heard that the protestant reformation in the U.S are "finished" ? (Heard from some forums)
  
  I also heard that people in the U.S are more hostile to Christians than before. (Read somewhere.)
  
  How true is that? Ice moon guru, you know?

  But I heard the pple in UK are not really spiritual. US is slightly better, and the charismatic churches are growing in numbers?

  If you been reading, especially in the the Western nations, the main reason for much angst again christianity, is due to the diversity of their population.
  
  Just last Christmas, the mayor of Sydney was in the papers for minimal xmas decorations to the front of the city hall, and the main reason was sensitivity to people of other faiths, or non religious people.
  
  I remembered talking to ben about an article two months ago, about the decreasing popularity of the churches in Europe, in this case the main reason was much disbelief in the narrow minded dogma and doctrines of the churches.
  
  So does the statistics about increasing christian population tell the whole truth? Does the narrow mindedness, which someone say is a must, because the truth is so narrow, actually help in spreading god words?

  hmm .. ok i like this point. the Catholic church faces a dilemna as it tries to stick to its traditions. society however, doesnt stay still and evolves. where in the past, the Catholic church was sort of a yard stick... and things like adultry and divorce were not the norms and was not acceptable. things however are no longer like that
  
  but in the new era, such things are common and if u dun accept it.. u'll be seen as narrow minded and things like dat.
  
  then what will be the stance of the Catholic Church? do we relax our norms? (in fact the Catholic Church has been evolving gradually.. esp. during the last 100 years). I mean, beyond the ruls and sacraments, Grace, faith and love are probably the most important. if the church enacts strict rules... it onlt serves as a barrier.
  
  but yet.. the church should nv condone things that disagrees with its teachings.
  
  like dat how ah? wanna hear the opinions of u peeps

  actually, the main issue wasnt exactly this, they were worried abt aspects of the church that are derived from man made laws, not laws laid down in the bibles...

  The hands of the Christian churches are dripping with the blood of those wrongly persecuted for practising "Dark Arts". Many of them were completely innocent. Also, most White wizards had not sought to use their craft for subversive purposes. Not to mention the fact that Christianity was not the original religion of the European continent.

  Well, even the Catholic Church in the United States are getting lots of sh!t. Sex scandals aside, there is growing anti-Catholicism in the media.

  Not wanting to go into debate about gay rights, it bring to mind what US and the present EU is now founded on - equal rights for all, which they all hold onto..

  Its good to see the declining christian population or increasing pressure on christian groups in US to be more concious towards others. such movement have already gain momentum in europe and australia.
  
  its like an awakening that should have happen long time ago.
