And ur sources being?Originally posted by happyharvest:Powling based her fiction on occult research. She consulted real-world magic on most of the magic fictionalized in her Harry Potter books. J.K. Rowling has stuided occult theory and practice to develop a fantasy that parallels real-world magic.

Can you tell me why? Why internet sources are not as realiable as book sources? Or why you don't like internet sources as much as books? Of course have to find the right one lar. People may not have to publish everything by books. Those publish online are meant for people who cannot afford or do not wish to spend money on books lo. I must say not all internet sources are not trustable. As long as you find the right one, it shouldn't be a problem.Originally posted by M©+square:x 2
And Please...not internet sources.
From christians researchers. I have a booklet at home that talk about magic. I copy from the booklet.Originally posted by laurence82:And ur sources being?
What other sources do you want? From established writers --> internet?, books?,interviews? .......Originally posted by M©+square:x 2

In my opinion, the sources closest to best are books with credible publisher.Originally posted by happyharvest:What other sources do you want? From established writers --> internet?, books?,interviews? .......
Good for you. So fortunate.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:oh they do..
haha.. my aunt does at least.
like the time when my parents were non christians, and i became one. after i shared to them and they received after 2 years, then she came in with her catholic friends and tried to woo my family over by telling us how great catholics are.
which part, my family being saved already, or catholics coming to preach salvation after they're saved?Originally posted by M©+square:Good for you. So fortunate.
Oh, I usually will compare sources from sources and pick up those that telly with each other or say the same thing lo. Yes, I do like to read books, but it is either the $$ problem or no time to read everything.Originally posted by M©+square:In my opinion, the sources closest to best are books with credible publisher.
Writers who are known for their orthodox doctrines and presentation.
e.g Gordon Lindsay, James Dobson, John Calvin, C.S Lewis, Josh MacDowell, Thomas A Kempis(One of the loved author)
Usually most of the sources i've seen in internet, either have various versions of a topic altogether, many assumptions and weak conclusion, poor references of studies. Inconsistency.
Those which you've posted which were claimed to have been studied by Christian scholars, i doubt their crediblity, maybe it's because i've read different materials and it doesn't seem to telly at all.
I tend to believe in the materials i read more than the internet articles.
All in all, internet sources are subject to changes...
Which means their stand and theories are still in studies.
I'm not sure how much you hold on to internet theories.
I for one is not a fan of it.
Reading is ok. But believing is another. Using it as to answer or reference to question is no no for me. Unless it is absolutely trustworthy.

Haha trust me. I have read those apologetics site many years ago. So, don't have to go back there.Originally posted by happyharvest:Oh, I usually will compare sources from sources and pick up those that telly with each other or say the same thing lo. When I post the internet sources here, it did not mean that I believe them fully. I still leave some allowances for errors. When I post them here, it simply means, this articles or sources are interesting and I would like to share with all of you here. Believe the sources or not, your problem right (aiya, should use your choice, more friendly lar..... nvm lar... ). I think some of you have read too much into the intention of my posting of those sources.
Posting them in forums and forcing the forumers die die must believe (oh did I have the ability to do that huh?? ) is another thing. I think I didn't do that, did I? If you don't like to read it, just don't read it lo. Other forumers may want to read it.
Again, please pardon me if I still did not get it right.
Regards
Shouldn't you be even more concern over forumers who came to this sgforums to pick up "knowledge" (in this case I'm refering to both EH and other forums in sgforums)? They might as well go buy those books or go to their churches to study God's words (in this case, I'm refering to EH)?Originally posted by M©+square:Haha trust me. I'm concerned over the weak materials which the internet supplied to the readers, maybe interesting. But it might not be healthy to have those 'knowledge'(apologies for thinking otherwise about those sources)
I understand your intention la. I used to be like this too.
Ah well...we should pardon one another and move on with the discussion.
