You can have revival that covers a church -- Spurgeon had that.
You can have a revival that covers a city.
You can have a revival that covers the whole nation -- and I am thinking in this context more than in the other contexts (though sometimes revival spreads from here to there -- like fire spreads.)
Revival cannot be organized -- evangelism can be organized.
Revival cannot be subsidized -- evangelism can and usually it must be.
Revival cannot be advertised -- evangelism can.

Actually I'm not quite sure what does the 3rd Awakening mean. Are there any 1st or 2nd Awaking? When were that?

Have you noticed how much praying for revival has been going on of late and how little
revival has resulted? I believe the problem is that we have been trying to substitute praying
for obeying, and it simply will not work. To pray for revival while ignoring the plain
precept laid down in Scripture is to waste a lot of words and get nothing for our trouble.
Prayer will become effective when we stop using it as a substitute for obedience.

I think it's going to happen very soon but it might entail some fiery persecution of the church & purging of the church. Pls read letters by Peter regarding the fiery trial abt to try us & judgement begins in the house of God & where would the ungodly stand when the righteous are scarely saved etc.Originally posted by M©+square:Waiting for the 3rd one to happen... -

Well, anyway God might just surprise us & the world. That's why told to watch. We r not of the night that we should sleep. Christ is described as a thief who comes to steal away the church. But we r of the day so He shouldn't surprise us when He comes again. Many many signs already. Take heed & watch carefully but don't overworry bcos He won't harm us. No demons can harm us also. Yes, I agree with you it is going to happen soon (perhaps 5 to 10 years down the road?).
