What do christians think of psychics or faith healers?

anyway .. this happened to my Dad's subordinate who was i brunei. basically.. his Dad got really sick and was on the brink of death. the doctors didnt give him a chance to survive and he was told that it might be at most a week before he goes. My Dad's colleague wasnt a believer... but he n my dad were quite close. My dad's the preacher type la .. so in any case... he called my Dad and asked my Dad to pray for him.
My dad gathered he's usual prayer group... and they started a vigil and 24 hrs prayer thing for him.
on the other side... my dad's colleague sent in a bomoh. while the bomoh was doing his thing.... he stopped. he said that he is no longer needed. The Mother was here (he was referring to Mary). and that his Dad would be fine.
and like the bomoh said... his dad recovered. when my dad's friend got back home.. he went to the storeroom to get a wheel chair. and near the wheelchair was a bible given to him a long time back by a visiting priest.
What resulted was the whole family converting to catholicism.
once again ... this is just a story i am sharing with people that are interested. Those that aren't ... dun flame me or anything la ... i really dun wanna debate on this.
and my Christian brothers and sisters... the Mary part juz let it go la.... i reiterated what he told me basically. -
Psychics maybe too general a term? Or are you talking about prophets in church context?
As for faith healers. I believe God can heal. But one shouldn't be blind to refuse scientific medical help. -

Not really. Miracles are just to draw people to the word of Christ. Once people read about christ, they will find out that it is not such a big deal. Its the teachings of the bible that are more important than the miracles.Originally posted by laurence82:Which part?

But Miracles are not really Important what. Its the teachings taht are far more important. Without miracles, people will not be motivated to hear the teachings. Miracles also happen in all form of religions. Its not simply a kind of retribution for your past evil deeds as most would like to believe. I think you should ask the the peeps over in buddhism forum for greater clarity... -
