Show what?? Show videos and photos?? What makes you think they have not shown?? Religious leaders? You mean christian leaders? The chinese evangelists are told not to take any stuffs from the ark and so they can only take photographs and videos.Originally posted by earthlings73:If they have good enough evidences, shouldn't they show it to the religious leaders? And through them, they can help spread the news that everyone has been waiting for. Wouldn't that be more effective in spreading God's words?

Huh .. who are the religious leaders? I hope you are not like SIS - he said show it to the mullah .. win liao lor .. who wants to be an instrument in evangelism?
The documentary claimed what they found is only the beginning. I won't argue that they have good enough evidence, but at least they manage to silence the critics who claimed there is nothing on the mountain.
I'm interested to find out the test they did on those wood. Are they really 5000 years old?
[b]jnwk .. the film shows us pottery? supposedly from Noah's time? Dunno leh .. how come they have collection of relics from Noah's time?!

Yes... Most Religions/Philosophies originated from India do contain the concept of karma, the concept of cause and effect...
Just like most Religions/Philosophies originated from Jerusalem consist of the mono-theist idea...
And Christianity borrowed most of the ideas from Judaism, isn't it? So isn't it a pot calling a kettle black? The concept of Gods exist in many many beliefs from the ancient world, from various civilisations (different civilisations have different Gods), so do not think that the concept of God was man-made? If there's only one single God, why would they only communicate with the Israelis?
Sigh... Didn't mean to challenge your religious belief, just hope that you can be sensitive of others' beliefs too. Indians believe in Karma, and Israelis believe in God. A claim that Buddhism is a copy-cat is a hint that Christianity is not original too. [b]

He's the enlightened one. Yes, he started off as a man. But after years of meditation, he was enlightened to finally understand the most important question of all: "Why are there sufferings".
The concept of God is different between Christianity and Buddhism. Christianity believe in one God that controls everything. Buddhists believe in a more naturalistic cycle of life and death and reincarnation, without the need of a God monitoring the process (pretty paganistic if you ask me). But what's more important about this religion is not whether there's a God or not, but how do we lead our daily life...

What about the Pope? And let him announce it to the world? Sure something as important as the finding of a piece evidence to show that God exist will interest the Pope isn't it?Originally posted by jnwk:Show what?? Show videos and photos?? They have their strategy in evangelising. Perhaps you would like to write him an e-mail to ask him why he choose to do it this way. He must have his reasons. Surely he have think of all alternatives.
But, I would think that through public broadcasting, the masses can be reached more effectively. Moreover, it required funds to distribute free CDs to the world. And so what if they show it to the religious leaders? There are rules and regulations to evangelising to the world. Do you think all people would flock to churches to watch the film or listen to the semon on the ark? Look at the response of the show? How many people have known about it or very interested to find out more? So few in Singapore compared to Hong Kong. So showing it in public cinemas, I would think it is the best way to tell the world.

Ah.. Where does the old testaments come from? Jesus' mission was to topple the Jewish high priests and allow common folks access to God. The old testaments were from Jews, isn't it?Originally posted by jnwk:No. Christianity is just an extension of the old testament. Christianity does not borrow the concept from Judasim. Oh dear... speechless.. Too many questions to answer. Maybe anyone can answer it. The questions can be answer de, just that it takes effort to answer them. Ya, it is good to challenge the teachings to see if it is true.
The bible tells us to "Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22) "
You answer definitely can be answered de. I don't have time to answer all your questions. If you want answers, you can ask here: http://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-Questions.html
If you are serious about it, you you can go find the answers.

Hope you would sit down and "be still" and think if there is a God. This is the most important and fundamental question. If yes, proceed to find out more. If no, then that is. Fullstop lo.... No point debating here ba.
no need to be so hard on yourself either, I think that all of us here have gone throught this at one stage or another... even the best of us...Originally posted by jnwk:ha ha... yeah.... thanks for the feedback. Laurence, I think you have to be reasonable here, we have stressed that time and time again, we are believers and Christians... we answer from our core belief as Christians and believers... is that so hard for you to accept. This is a Christian forum... we are not anti other faiths... we speak from what we know is right and true, if you bring up another "faith" or religions view points in EH, I think that the believers here have a right to defend that... but at the same time like I have stressed so many times... I think you need to chill a bit here because our view point will never change. You don't expect to go to a muslim or buddhist forum and have them preach something they don't believe in right? So why come here an antagonise yourself all the time?Originally posted by laurence82:I see, by the appointment of a particular person as a mod, and the tone that has been set in this topic, more anti other faiths topics gonna come up...sigh

When did you see the Pope doing evangelism? The Pope already believe God exist.
Moreover the Pope won't take a Protestant expedition too seriously. At most he make some comments. However, I think it is very difficult for Vatican people to access the site.
Christians don't need to see the evidence smack in front of them. The various religious heads (like Archbishop of Cantebury, Patriarch of Greek Orthodox Church etc.) believe in God, Noah and the Flood. Come to think of it, I'm not sure what's the use of showing the documentary to Christians who already believe in Jesus Christ and Judgement Day.Originally posted by earthlings73:I have the Pope in mind actually. =p Not too sure whether there's a leader for the other denominations though... From the BBC documentary, they discussed of the finding of woods on Mt Ararat in the 50s. However, those woods were dated to 8 century AD. The most plausible explanation is that shrines were build on the site.
Ah... At first, I thot that's strange too... ha.. the pottery, but then, after checking online resource, pottery was invented before Noah... And hence, if they managed to find the pottery and date back to Noah, it's still possible that those belongs to Noah too...
