i respect other religions and the Catholic church has been promoting acumenism too. i guess its a good head start.
but non-christians attack Christians too though ... and when people attack our faith.. we have to defend it. the same way u will fight to defend the name of your parents.

few weeks ago, somebody started a topic on christians saying silly stuff on chinese ghost festival
that is based on what some christians have done
of cuz after that the topic become silly mud slinging on both sides....but looking at the original intention of that topic, it was to raise awareness some christians are doing this -

what i want the rest to do? i have no idea, there is this particular group of people in your faith who are going around doing such stuff, and you gonna stand one side?
besides, need not to be outside forum ,look at particular people within this forum itself... -

I think this is due to their church lifestyle. If you attended Mass, you know how different it is from Protestant services. the homily that i attended for my mum's baptism sort of stuck with me throughout my life. Then.. the former archbishop Gregory Young was saying 'What is the Catholic Church? It's where love is .. .and if you love... u will be the best spokesperson for God.'
something along the line of what Mother Theresa did i guess. She went out not to convert people but to maintain their dignity esp. during death. But by doing this, she converted thousands.

my ex-sis-in-law is such a kind of person that my parents think they have to "pray" to her just cause she is Xtian. Because she refused to even touch food that was just offered to another relgion. She had this holier than thou attitude about other religion, people and culture. -

Xtians preach, invite you to church 'cos they want you to be saved. other religions have different views of salvation, I suppose. Hence you cannot compare which religion is better (or whether "their is not good enough") 'cos salvation from the Christian context is non-existence in other religions. -

I would not say "salvation" is non-existance ... in buddhist context, its to be out of that karmic cycle... I don't know much about Taos, Islam or Hinduism.. so cannot comment. But then I am not a real buddhist anyways ...
Nowadays... I think religion is just a representation ... spirituality, mindfulness and such are boundary-less ba ...
