Halo all
I am new to Sgforums.
I am a Reformed Presbyterian and I am interested in Apologetics, the defence of the Christian faith. I have only recently begun a blog where I will be writing about my reflections as well as stuff that I have read from theological books.
I hope that my blog is edifying for the believer as well as an evangelistic tool for the unbeliever.

Thanks for showing interest in my Apologetics blog.
I must say that this is a bold venture on my part because I have not done anything of such nature before in my life. I set up this blog partly out of impulse and partly as a result of the moving of the Holy Spirit.
I see my blog as a mosaic of theological articles. Actually to be very honest, most of the writings will not exactly be original per se, that is the ideas and arguments are mostly based on the books that I read. There are other much more competent Apologetics websites out there in the Internet such as carm.org but I realise that people I will like to evangelise will only bother to read anything written by me.....
Yeah, fundamentally the intent and engine of the blog will be evangelism-based but I will be writing entries out of my own personal reflections so occasionally there will be so-called inconsistencies in content and theme.
Please do be patient as I am currently serving national service and I am afraid I will not be able to update the blog as often as I wish to, though I must say that I am pretty excited by the possibilities that this blog can provide.
May our God bless this project and may His Holy Spirit grant me the perseverance and wisdom as I seek to distill and crystallise what I have read and translate them into digestible formats for readers.

Just wondering, did anybody attend an Evening Lecture organised by Eagles Communications Ministries in Orchard Hotel on 28 July 2005 Thursday?
The speaker for that night was Ravi Zacharias and I went to listen to his talk. I have updated my blog with an account of what he said and if anybody attended his talk, please kindly have a review of what I wrote as I am not certain if I got what Ravi Zacharias meant.

Oh I am just an amateur. Actually I do not think even think I am an amateur. I am just interested in Apologetics and when I first started my blog, I hoped to reason with my non Christian friends.

Can I just ask wat is Apologetic? Im a Roman Catholic but I havent came across Apologetic christians.. it sounds like symapathetic and apologizing christians.

I think non christians are more open towards the philosophical aspects. They set the foundation for further discussion of the Christian faith. -

this is apologetics.
I feel that 1 Peter 3:15 is still a scripture which gave the reason for apologetics.
The verse itself is not apologetics.
1 Peter 3:15 does not equate or anywhere near to apologetics. -
The verse tells us what is and why Christians should do apologetics.

This verse seemed to be used at your advantage to present the reason for apologetics.
However, 1 Peter 3:15 and the rest of the passage spoke about suffering onto doing good. Nothing about apologetics.
The reason for Apostle Peter's 3:15 'Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.'.
From what i interprete is throughout the later part of Chapter 3 till Chapter 5.
Context is suffering onto God's glory. He spoke to the church to strengthen their faith and summed up the essence of Christianity in 1 Peter and 2 Peter.
I'm not sure how you came up with the verse and linked it with apologetics. But i'm sure he meant, giving people the accounts of his reason of belief and hope onto God.

Whatever happened to contextual and conductive interpretation?
I wouldn't say i am pro-apologetic esp having seen bashes and counter bashes everywhere.
Using scriptures for people's own purposes and selfish gratification.
The word was used for wrong purposes.
Like i've said. Apologetics in this forum has no gentleness and respect.
Why not do a check and surf around?

Reason is powerful, but cannot be the sole means to sharing the word...
because reason at times can be quite dead if taken out of context. -
