Anyone to enlightened me?
Do u believe whatever we have here belong to the LORD? Do u believe that GOD always give so much more to us first and he only want a portion of it back to show that we love him?
No...it is not compulsory to give $$$ to the church....as far as scripture is concern,
GOD wants u to give from ur heart and he loves a cheerful giver:
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Sowing Generously
6Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.I suppose u r talking abt tithing....where tithing is seen in scripture, it does not necessarily means money, but also in kind (agricultural produce/lifestock).
It was a law given to the jews to give back to GOD a portion of what they have taken from HIM. As shown in Leviticus 27:
30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORDÂ’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
31 And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof.
32 And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
33 He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. Here u can see GOD reproach the jews for disobeying his laws and robbing him, and yet he promised them things ever more in abundance if they tithe!
Malachi 3:6-12
Robbing God
6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty.
"But you ask, 'How are we to return?'
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty.
