There are many but these 3 stood out for me....
Mother Theresa... who can deny her work.....
David Livingstone - The progress he made as an European missionary in Africa is inspiring... especially Africa in the 1800s... The one statement he made... "God has an only Son and he was a missionary and physician." really made me felt the heart of God.
Jim Elliot... anyone heard of him? He inspires me because he was deemed to be a man of God and could have stayed on in USA to build the church but he was determined to heed God's call and minister to the Auca tribe in Ecuador but he was killed days after he landed at the beach near the tribe. But his death in a mysterious way also inspire his wife to go to the tribe and preach the gospel and many of the tribal people has since turned to Christ.... -

Elizabeth Elliot wrote three books on the story of her husband's life and mission.
Very interesting read on how the Auca tribe who was totally resistant to foreigners(the missionaries were killed) but after a few years they welcomed her stay and accepted the gospel.
Indeed, a sacrifice of one man(with the other missionaries) is sometimes necessary to bring a whole tribe to recieve salvation.

You can have a revival that covers the whole nation -- and I am thinking in this context more than in the other contexts (though sometimes revival spreads from here to there -- like fire spreads.)
Revival cannot be organized -- evangelism can be organized.
Revival cannot be subsidized -- evangelism can and usually it must be.
Revival cannot be advertised -- evangelism can.
