And many cults have the characteristic of 'enjoining' all the religions together. You can't call them a religion, so it's a cult. -

Sorry I made a mistake by saying most Taiwanese are Yi Kuan Dao followers.
Most are Taoists and Buddhists, then followed by Yi Kuan Dao.

Many regard it as a spin-off from Taoism, but I-Kuan Tao followers claim their philosopy unifies common truths underlying Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism. Unlike classical Taoism, they celebrate one god that is is higher than all the others, Mingming Shangdi (God of Clarity).
Buddhist elements are often incorporated in I-Kuan Tao temples, especially the Maitreya Buddha (often erroneously nicknamed the "Fat Buddha" or "Happy Buddha").
I-Kuan Tao was first established in 1930 in Ji'nan, Shandong province (in mainland China) by two men, Shi Zuang and Shi Mu. In just 15 years, I-Kuan Tao spread to all the provinces of China. However, the Communist takeover of mainland China in 1949 caused many I-Kuan Tao followers to flee to Taiwan and other countries in Southeast Asia. Today are approximately 200 established I-Kuan Temples in Taiwan, plus at least 30,000 I-Kuan Tao family shrines in people's homes.
I-Kuan Tao believers are expected to follow a vegetarian diet. It's estimated that half of the vegetarian restaurants in Taiwan are operated by I-Kuan Tao adherents. Because they are permitted to eat eggs, it was once popular to call I-Kuan Tao the "Duck-Egg Religion," a term which is considered impolite.
I-Kuan Tao is involved in various community welfare projects, operating a number of kindergartens, hospitals, clinics and retirement homes. -

also i heard that they can be "appointed to go to heaven" by certain appointed people. also they must swear on certain things or else lightning will strike them.
not sure about other religions, but they teach the wrong things on buddhism especially in regards to maitreya buddha. -

but certain doctrines like u i also dun agree with them
they are quite open to discussion also, used to have nice long chats with them at their homes

I wouldnt doubt their sincerity, in fact my buddhist master made an observation that Yi Kuan Dao ppl very often are truth seekers. but for some reasons i believe they are misguided in certain things. -
