Sorry for the interruption. Tying up some of the loose ends
Choice over whether should we be punished ? If we r forgiven and cleanse, the punishment should ceased. If the effect is not instantaneous, then it really meant the above 2 conclusions. Either god has not totally forgiven us or he is powerless to change the fact. Instead of telling me if these 2 conclusions r wrong or coming up with a third scenario, u really just beat around the bush and never really try answering the questionThe penalty for sin is death. All of us have to die to pay for the sins in our lifetime. The imputation of Jesus' righteousness comes in handy when you stand before God during Judgement.
U know I can repeat the statement above again since your answer again beat around the bush and never answer the question
Faith in Christ is most important, but I never say other things are not important. Even Catholics stress on faith and work, but you seems to stress on work. So your description is not Christianity
If I am not wrong from the above statement u agree tat work is important as well for salvation. The question has never argue whether is faith the most important or least important, but whether work important at all. As such tis desciption still fits the description of christainity. If work is not important at all then being homosexual or extreme sinners or even hitler still guarantees eternal life.
And why did God send Christ so that people can get eternal life? 'cos HE LOVE THE WORLD.
Also you contradict your earlier reply. You said faith in Christ not important. But this sentence says that faith is most important (whoever believes in him shall not die .. )
The whole argument is on whether eternal life is the moltivation for christian to believe in it. Why don't u just cut it short and dare to state tat eternal life is never a moltivation for christians to believe in christainity ? Why just give off a lot of smoke and refuse to answer tis simple question ?
I can't stand the fact you quoted from a dubious website. You always like to give examples. I never said eternal life is not important, but when xtians preach, there are some things more important. The potential xtian (still unbeliever) should be made to see certain things first, not the eternal life. So if a believer is too caught up with eternal life, then I say this is not good christian mentality.
If eternal life is important then u had answered the original question of christians believe in christainity just because they wanna live forever. They r the same as a date with the vampire.
Even John the Baptist proclaimed, "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand". This should be the way to preach. Make people see their sins, then tell them the love of God.
I see the statement as warning people tat there last chance to believe in christanity is close before they r judged whether they go to heaven or hell. It is still very much eternal life,.
Tell you also no use. How you respond depends largely on whether you love Him in the first place. For example, I am not your father's son, of course I don't love him as much as you do.
Lets put it tis way, to a non-believer, the love from your god is not the love from a father but the love from a stranger's imaginary friend. U accept any stranger love for u ? Especially when he threathen u will die if u do nto recipocate his love and got eternal life when u do ? Eternal life still get into the picture
You can't even show me empirical evidence of your claims. I've shown you what you claimed is not proper xtian belief. Also I can't help if some very insignificant people want to think it the way you said - believe eternal life and forgot about sins, love of Christ etc.
I have shown tat wat i claimed is indeed the most often used tool for evangelising from christian sources. One of the moltivation to be a christian is to have eternal life. Otherwise whetehr we have sin, love etc doesn't make peopel do the things they do now.
