song boh.
its the repent part dats messy.. we can't be sure if that guy really repented you know. how to see. thats why we are not the judge. lol.
As long as you be good and do good, God will be happy with you. The Bible was written by man. Dont forget that.Originally posted by k4korny:great.. thx for telling me dat.. will be preparing some sun tan lotion and ask my family to burn to me when i die.
I dun really care about my afterlife lah.. what I'm more concern about is the teachings. Any religion should promote ppl to do good. Logically, it doesn't make sense that you condemn ppl who does good but is not part of your religion. What kind of message is it trying to drive?
As for the repent part, it sounds more like a play of words rite? It's like "Have a nice day". Nice is ambiguous and will be open for interpretation. Nobody can ever define what this word mean.. IMHO..
thats why so messy. u can't just say u're sorry in front of God, can bluff other people, but not someone like dat.. who can probably read you like a book. for us.. cannot see de. even best friends say sorry oso dunnoe real anot, can oni chim chai chim chai forgive n forget.Originally posted by k4korny:great.. thx for telling me dat.. will be preparing some sun tan lotion and ask my family to burn to me when i die.

close but not close enough. as long you believe and follow God's Words, you will end up doing good whether u like it anot. and God will be happy with you, if you like it.Originally posted by shade343:As long as you be good and do good, God will be happy with you. I dont like the way certain churches twist the words of the bible...especially the tithing part and the promise of "eternal life".Originally posted by Ito_^:close but not close enough. as long you believe and follow God's Words, you will end up doing good whether u like it anot. and God will be happy with you, if you like it.
the writers of the Bible are definitely not man now. all sheng tian le. some will argue that the writers were under the guidance of the Lord, therefore, it is actually written by God and not man.
I dont like the way certain churches twist the words of the bible...especially the tithing part and the promise of "eternal life".tithing is a requirement, you can choose to do it or not, you still have a choice but beware of what you are doing...
So what if you have 100% faith in jesus? If you have not cleared your karmic baggage, its unlikely you can get into heaven.
those "facts" you have stated are just part of your beliefs..Originally posted by breytonhartge:like I said earthling73, it is my opinion, just as you have yours about religion, I have mine, I have respected you and have not put you down in anyway... I am just stating what I know to be true.
and this is exactly what i meant..Originally posted by breytonhartge:original quote by shade343

YOUR 100% FAITH IN JESUS WILL CLEAR ALL OF YOUR "karmic" debt, once and for all... so there!
I am just pointing out that no one religion rules over another. All religions have their advantages and disadvantages.. So which part shows that I do not have an open mind?Originally posted by breytonhartge:to earthling73,
If my view point is challenging to you, that means that you either have
1) a curious mind and think that there may be some truth in what I am saying
because something in you is nagging at you..
or
2) you are threatened by my belief system and do not have an open mind...
The whole point about this is that all "religions" challenge another "religions" belief system just as Christ challenges us... so basically in a democratic world and society, we then are the final arbiters... do you not think that muslims and buddhists also challenge my christian beliefs? What about all the hooha about religious tolerance? If all "religions" are equal... then why are the buddhists and muslims and the other "religions" out there so afraid of the gospel of Christ? What is it when it comes to religious tolerance we all should be able to speak out minds and not feel threatened by each others view points... if your belief in your " religion" is strong and holds fast, what have you to be afraid of? I fear no other "religions" because I am secure and steadfast in my faith and belief that Jesus is the only way... and if you are sure that the path you have chosen is the only way, then why feel threatened by my views?
Integrity of my own logical beliefs system..Originally posted by breytonhartge:what I am also trying to put foward is that Jesus will take away your sins if you let Him, that you do not need to work to get into Heaven, that He has a better way... our works as Christians come because of our salvation and not to gain it. Give it some thought, would you want to slog for your salvation all your life only to find that you have come short through your own works... or would you want to have a guarantee that you will be in Heaven when your life on this earth is over?
Put it this way, what have you got to loose? If I am wrong which I am not, then you are back to your belief system and because of all the good work that you do... as a believer, you will be well advanced in the "karmic" cycle
