Mormons are cults. Mormon church is founded by a Christian named Joseph Smith. So Mormons are Christians and Christians are cults.

the LSD church differs as much from traditional christianity as much as christianity differs from judaism. personally, i wont consider them christians

Before one can conclude whether a group is a cult or not, one needs to define what is mainstream Christianity and what is a cult:

Definition on whether a group is a cult or not must always go beyond the perceived reputation of the founder. -
the Church of Christ is catholic....universal that is.

The Mormons actually no longer believe in Polygamy. They stopped their belief in polygamy in order to obtain political benefits in the United States. The Mormon church in the late 19th century wanted Utah to be recognized as a state and the United States government told the people of Utah that they would only recognize their state if they ended polygamy. As a result the head of the Mormon church got a "revelation" that God no longer wanted Mormon men to have more than one wife. Seems very convenient if you ask me.
Mormons however do not believe in the Trinity and this would disqualify them from properly being considered as Christians.
Mormons also have some strange beliefs such as Jesus appeared in the United States of America in addition to appearing in Palestine. The Mormons also think that men can eventually become Gods, and of course this is contrary to Christian thought. -

If the purist's definition is to be used. Then, there would be only one Christianity, the Catholic version.

And to me, as long as the religion is based on bible, I would classify the religion as Christianity. -

Mohammadeans are more Jewish than Christians.
Both deny the deity of Christ. Both treat pork as non-kosher.

Do you all know that there's a Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints church near Newton MRT station, along bukit timah road if I'm not wrong. I was baptised in the LDS church about 10 yrs ago, however I haven't been back to it for the past 8 yrs. basically for the mormons, when the boys reach the age of 18 they would spend 2 yrs doing preaching activities totally devote themselves to the church, so imagine if u are a mormon in singapore, 2 yrs ns plus 2 yrs to the church hhaha. but that's how mormons work around the world, they are quite devoted to the religion. I had my doubts with the teachings of the mormons, esp they are very against drugs even consider caffine as harmful, so true mormons dont drink coke, tea or coffee. Plus their teachings are vastly different from christians. but they are definitely not charismatic like chc

Agree with the food and drinks part. They are very health conscious group of people. Last time when smoking was still allowed on the air craft, when the airplanes flew above the Utah air space (Utah is a Mormon state in USA), the captain would make annoucements to tell the passengers to put out their cigerattes.
They drink a lot of water cuz it's good for health. They limited their soft drinks intake to maybe once a week only. I worked temp for a Utah company during one Asian Aerospace before. My boss then shared a lot about their life style to me. -
