  Hi. I'm new in Singapore and heard about this church who has a pastor who is a magician.

  I think you're refering to Pastor Lawrence Khong of FCBC?

  Many years ago, he was so famous. Every other converts claimed that they attend FCBC. That time FCBC was like a hot favourite, hot topic, before CHC came about.

  definitely Lawrence Khong.... still doing his magic act with his daughter, Priscilla. I think they will be appearing together with other "magicians" or "illusionist" in a magic show soon.

  Can you tell me more about this "famous" church. eg. denomination, doctrines they believe, is it a "proper church" or something one should stay away from. etc etc etc.
  
  Sorry with all these questions but I just want to be careful as in Oz there are many "churches" which are not really churches at all and hide behind the facade of christianity and twist the word of God to their own conveniences. Hence when I heard of a pastor who is a magician ..... ???

  No lah.... he like David Copperfield, use props and slight of hand type. Has the same prop designer as Dave, name of this designer is Andre Kohl (also a magician/preacher). Khong also acts in privately produced family drama under some family/community ministry programme.

  i've seen him perform at suntec convention hall b4. its not bad, really, but after that the preaching starts and i sian 1/2 liaoz.
  
  anyway he said that the purpose of the performance is the show that everything is fake and simi devils use the same method to misled us or some thing like tat lah. so, on the whole, its still to spread the good of christianity.
